Hi there. Well i think i already told  you guys, but she was spayed well almost a month ago now. I was just wondering how long it takes for her hormones to go bye bye lol. She driving me nuts right now. She keeps dumping her litter box. Three times so far! Throws her toys and stuff in her cage everywhere. Makes a big ol mess. She is messy to begin with lol,but she is getting messier. I mean as in like hay wise and food. She enjoys eating off the floor heck with bowls. I just dont get the whole dumping of the litter box. Why she do that? Just a hormonal thing? Like she doesnt know what to do with herself so she gonna do whatever she can lol. Thats what it seems like to me. Someone told me oh she will grow out of it by the time she is one. Well she is 11 months old now lol. So i dunno. I still love her of course, she just being super brat. Ugh,she just did it again. I dont feel like cleaning up after her right now, just got done doing it twice tonite! I really hope this stage is over soon. Lol. Any advice you can give me? Or just wait it out? I mean i know there is probably nothing i can do anyways, just wondering. Thanks for reading.

What do you use for a litter box? Maybe a bigger heavier one is in order so she doesn’t drive you too crazy lol.

She uses a big high sided cat litter box. I should have said she is kicking it all out not actually dumping it lol. She seems fine when she is out, i clean up her cage, box, and she leaves it alone. A little while after i put her back in for the night, she gets to work on it. I dunno maybe she wants to stay out? But she cant do that,as she keeps trying to jump on top of her cage, which she can do. I gotta figure out how to block it or something so she cant. Any ideas?

you might consider switching to a covered litter box, since it will stop all the litter from getting everywhere. it may also be the kind of litter you’re using. i discover my kids dig and toss a lot more when it’s a pellet style litter.

it takes about a month or two for all the hormones to completely die down, but i hate to tell you there are plenty of spayed / neutered buns who take great delight in making messes like that.

Hi! Yes, a covered litterbox is definitely a good way to go. I use this Booda Dome that has a ramp, then when the bunny starts digging, it only gets flung onto the ramp and not straight out of the box!
