Going straight to the point when I got home shooky wasnt moving and he didn’t eat anything. I tried giving him papaya nothing carrot nothing and he didn’t even want bananas. He seemed really weak he was laying on his pillow and he didn’t look alive. Thankfully he is breathing but he still doesn’t want food or water.

I called the vet and they told me they could help me tomorrow at 12. It’s currently 5:02 pm and I don’t think he will last that long

Is there something I could give him to eat or stay hydrated?

        Please help me

I am so sorry Shooky isn’t well.

Do you have any emergency vets near you? This really sounds like a case where a vet is needed immediately.

No sadly the vets near me don’t treat rabbits. I don’t know what to do I got a syringe and gave him water but right now he is on his pillow

I know you said he didn’t look alive. Is he laying flat out with his head down most of the time? Did you try lifting him to see if he can stand on his own? When was the last time he ate and pooped?

Right now I carried him to see if he was well and when I put him on his pillow he stayed up so he isn’t laying down he is just sitting there cleaning his paws (I got pretty messy trying to feed him a piece of banana) his ears were kind of cold but now they are warm because I wrapped him in a burrito.

I heard about critical care but none of the pet stores near me well them.

You could make a mash with his pellets and some water since you don’t have critical care. The thing is you don’t want to do this if he may have a blockage. Usually it’s best to get the go ahead from a vet before you do this. I am not sure when you last saw the pillow or litter box without poop to get an idea of how recent those happened. Timing of this would give a better idea if a blockage is possible.

Do you see any signs that he is in pain?

I don’t think he is in pain he lets me carry him and he is the type of bunny to hate being carried. He just refuses to eat anything because he moves his head when I get the syringe close to him.

Honestly the lethargy and lack of appetite can be caused by so many things. I would make sure he is being kept warm (but not overheated of course) and that you try and keep him hydrated and his gut moving (if it’s not blocked to begin with). It doesn’t sound like it is but I would never want to assume anything. It’s not unusual for them to turn their head when you try and syringe feed them. You can try other safe food such as a vegetable baby food. No matter what you may end up having to force feed him and if you google this there are some tips on how to do this safely.

Healing vibes being sent Shooky’s way!

This has happened before but I just think it was when I gave him broccoli and he got gassy.

But he continued to eat in a few hours. I hope he starts eating by himself.

I have him a blanket and I’ll keep feeding him with a syringe.

Thank you I’ll update if something happens.
