Do you have a funny pic to share with everyone that displays your Bunny Behaving Badly?

Let’s show everyone those moments we capture our buns Caught in the ACT!!!

        I’ll start things off –

Me:  (Talking on the phone to a colleague who doesn’t know I have house rabbits)

Hugo:  (Taking the opportunity to jump onto our *messy* dining room table)
Leaps up from the ground, to the chair, to the top!

I hear:  Crash, ruffle ruffle….."Hugo!! Get down!!"

At other end of phone:  "Pardon me?"

It’s a good thing I always have my digital camera on hand to document the evidence…

What sorts of naughty things do your bunnies do?

          lol – too cute!!
I think Hugo is merely trying to help you with your work!

Viktor likes to hop on the coffee table, which gets him in trouble. Every one really likes to nibble their Daddy’s boots too, which really gets him upset…

I’m actually finally going to be updating the gallery this week with new pictures.  Are these cute ones included in the batch you sent a while back?  I guess I’ll find out.  If not, Can I steal them directly from this page?

Does anyone else let their rabbits on to their furniture?
                  Hugo, sneaking around:

                  "You caught me, mom!"
                  Trying to sneak outside…
                  Admiring his own reflection
Mabel is hiding under a giant pillow on the couch
                  Looks comfy!
It’s so hard to take good Mabel pics.  Without flash:
You can barely see her features.
                  With flash:
I laughed so hard when I discovered this pic.  She looks so blinded by the light.
So that is why I don’t like to use the flash on her, but it does show off her unique coloring.
She is a New Zealand "Red", which I have never heard of before I got her.
I guess its a pretty rare breed?
Well, she has dark hair, with red and blond highlights that are hard to capture on film.  And she has a black muzzle.
I only thought there were New Zealand breeds were albino, who knew?

Binkybunny, is Jack a New Zealand White?  How much does he weigh?

oo what cuties! they don’t look so naughty to me!

I don’t have photos – but good story to share. Hareiette is very bratty and like most princesses thinks the world should revolve around her. My hubby was having a grand time playing x-box games and Hareiette got irritated that he was ignoring her. She hopped over to the controller cord and put it in her mouth. She WAITED until he looked and then bite it in two! Talk about a plotting bunny! She knew how to hit him where it would really hurt! lol

I am pretty sure Jack weighs around 9 pounds :o)

                      GH-

That is really funny!!!  I don’t doubt for a second that she knew exactly what she was doing.
Rabbits are sooo smart once they are socialized, that is the main thing NRP (non rabbit people) do not know!

I got a couple more pics last night.
                      Some are cute/pretty funny:

Hugo, constantly underfoot in the kitchen:

He knows EXACTLY where his food comes from!  "Daddy, you better be cutting up some veggies!"
"Need some help getting a pan?"
Hugo has taught Mabel where to look for food:
"I disapprove of that slippery flooring."
Here’s a cute one of Bungee, giving me "The Crook Eye"

                      Cauliflower!

                      Hugo, are  you wearing lipstick??

We have been through an xbox controls because I would get up to go into the kitchen and forget it was on the floor.  So finally I decided that I can’t beat my forgetfulness, and just put a cord cover on the cord.

You’re right on about Jack – 9 pounds!

Jack is a mix/mutt – The rabbit rescue guessed he was a mix between a New Zealand White and Rhilander (because he has faint gray markings that match those of a Rhilander)   He also has brown eyes.
And Gravehearted was right – he is 9 pounds.

What is the weight of your NZ?

lol – maybe we need to have a guess the bunny weight contest !

I think skinny cords taste better – since they’re the only ones my kids eat. All our x-box and ps2 controllers are cordless these days. We were too frustrated with replacing the corded ones. They also really enjoyed the tiny cords on the front on the ps2, we finally put an x-pen around the front of the tv stand so they can’t hop on the DVD player and much cords!

What is the weight of your NZ?

I don’t know for sure, but I’d hazard a guess of maybe 7-8 lbs?  She is definately the longest of the 3 bunz we have.
I would guess Hugo to be about 5 lbs, Bungelina about 6?  She is half-lop/half dutch mix, so I guess she’s a bit large for those breeds?
I have no idea what breed Hugo is.  He has chinchilla coloring I believe, but I am no expert.  Also in my research, Chinchillas are usually 11 lbs on average, and he is probably half that size.  One other possible clue is that he was found dumped at the door of a vets office with another boy, probably the same age.  And this boy was an orange and white Dutch.  Is it possible they were brothers?

The thing that worried me a bit on Mabelline is that she came from a group of NZ Reds that were on test at a lab at my old job.  And one of the techs that worked there told me that the average weight of the other NZ Reds came up to 12 lbs!  So, is Mabel really underweight?  Am I underfeeding her??
She does get regular exercise of course, where lab animals are confined to a cage…
I think I worry too much about my babies!

Rabbits even of the same breed can come in different sizes – especally if they are mixed.    Though there is an average, you might just have one that is smaller – a runt of sorts.

Even in healthy bunnies, you should still be able to feel ribs – not boney, but lean.

This next expert regarding how to tell if your bunny is fit comes from RabbitNetwork.org:

"How do you know if your bunny is fat? Many house rabbits are, and they are not at all embarrassed by it! Rabbits store fat inside their abdomen, which makes just eyeballing them for love handles ineffective. Run your hands along your rabbit’s side, feeling the rib cage. When you reach the end of the ribs, your should be able to feel a slight inward slope, the waist. Fat bunnies will balloon out instead. Remember that the ribs are palpable in even quite obese rabbits, so don’t let your bunny fool you into more snacks!"

                                  Hope that helps!

i have just come up for air after sorting my telephone out (ie having to put in a new one) – i think its true about the thin wires, Blue pulled the wire cover back from where the plug meets the socket just far enough to sink her teeth through the wire and cut it in half. of course i didnt realise until i’d spent a while switching the phone on and off, thinking ‘ok, it’ll work this time…..’ (boy am i glad no-one was here to see me looking so gormless) and going to ask at the corner shop if their phone line was down too……that wascally wabbit! it is the first time she has shown any interest though so it could have been worse!

loopy-lop.. it really does seem buns love wires.. thats the ONLY thing my lola has bitten through! so far its been: cell phone charger wire, modem power supply wire, microphone wire, and some other wire. someone suggested i should just put some wire around the cage so she chews on that instead! :p lol, i dont think that would be too healthy, but whats up with the bunnies and those wires?
