        Hi all

(I’m new to the forum! My names Nicole, first time bunny owner and loving every minute of it!)

I have a rabbit who is a little over 1 and a half years old about 2.5 lbs, and we have had him since he was a few weeks old. He was given to us, and the woman never told us what type of rabbit he was, so I was just curious if any of you guys know !

        Thanks!!

He is some kind of mix. Maybe a Dutch and something else.

He looks related to mine! However, mine is much bigger. He is a Rex/dwarf mix and is 4.5 lbs, which is small, considering Rex rabbits are big bunnies. Is there anything that may set him apart, to help tell the breed? For example, mine has a big butt, but little ears– Dwarf. He is SUPER soft, softer than other rabbits, doesn’t shed, but molts really bad– Rex. A vet is the one who told me though. I’m not that good

Definately a mix. Some kind of dwarf in there I guess, going by the weight. Do all Rex have curly whiskers? His look pretty straight. Either way, he’s handsome!

Another vote for some kind of Dutch mix, and maybe some dwarf considering the weight. Cute!

Thank you everyone for you kind replies! His whiskers are definitely straight, and he’s reallly really soft, he sheds a bit when I’m petting him but it seems to be a lot worse in the fall…I’ll add a few more pictures that might help! Also, if you look closely at the first picture, he has 2 identical patches, one on each side of his body by his hip that are dark brownish red, and the fur feels coarse to the touch? The patches appeared after a few months of having him, I just thought it was odd..maybe its normal for his breed? Thanks again guys! I love my bun and he appreciates the help as well

His ears and nose look similar to my Netherlands dwarf? Lovely colouring

I vote for a dutch mix, as well.

Our Rex/dwarf mix does have straight whiskers, so I don’t think all have the curly ones, or maybe it is the dwarf in mine causing the difference (his head is small). You buns just looks like mine, because of the coloring. Mine has a white neck, paws and nose too. That’s likely just a cute coincidence

He does look like he has some kind of dwarf in there too, with those cute ears. He is so gorgeous! I love the feet kicked out, lying on the belly photo! My buns goes after cameras and won’t sit still. My profile photo is the one from the animal shelter!

Rexanater: Love the name! We call our buns Rex or Rexasaurus

He looks like he could be my Foo’s twin brother!!

I too think he is a Netherland Dwarf. I am not familiar with all of the official colorings of Netherlands, but usually when I think of them, I think solid colors, so yours may be a mix. But being that he is only 2 1/2 lbs and they way his face and body looks, in the second set of photos I’d say mostly Netherland with possible dutch mixed in.

oh my gosh they are twins!! does your Foo have a brown patch on his hip also? Heres a picture of my Ted in the same exact pose! How funny!

And yes, Netherland dwarf is a definite possibility, I want to also do more research in terms of behaviors and such! Thanks for all your input!

Haha, those similar pics are too cute! I don’t know a lot about breeds but definitely some Dutch in there! I love the little white nose

I’m gonna say netherland dwarf with vienna markings. Those markings could be related to dutch markings, but vienna marks are a whole different thing related to the genes that make blue eyed whites (which are relatively common in nethies). Vienna marks tend to have that “lightning” look (not sure how else to describe it) that mixed dutchies don’t have.

I would go with a nethie dwarf too but whatever he is…. he is adorable. I love his markings…

Maybe cadbury is looking for a new model?

Teddy- She does have the brown markings on her hip as well! It took us a little to notice it because it’s really dark brown, but it’s there!

Haha I’m glad foofoo and teddygraham’s bun are twins! That’s awesome.

He has the same build as my Bunjmain who is a dwarf mix. He weighs exactly 2.5 lbs too! He also doesn’t fit the normal “solid” color coat
