My rabbit Ebony has blood around her fur near her anus, I have also noticed bloodied poop on the floor, poop is normal.

Ebony seems to be fine, running around and being silly as usual.

        Any suggestions?

Looking for a vet open on Sunday.

Oh goodness Lisa. Vibes to Ebony.

Maybe she has bladder sludge or a bladder stone. That might cause some bleeding.

Did you check to see that she had not injured her anal area too?

            Does she seem in pain?

Is she posturing when she urinates or poops?

Hi Lisa. I have had an Australian Vets list saved for some time. This vet is mentioned a few times for WA. http://www.rabbitshopwa.com/contact.html Open Sundays 8am-1pm
              Please keep us updated.
              ((((((((((Ebony))))))))))))

ETA: I’ve had quick look for possible reasons.  Only come across ruptured polyp in rectum so far…

All my 7 rabbits were de sexedd at the rabbitshop and I am not far from them. I tried ringing with no reply, I went up there and they are closed. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have checked for any injuries and all is ok, she seems very happy and running around and eating normally.

I will just have to keep an eye on her, She is in the family room in a small hutch so if anything goes wrong I will just have to take her to a normal vet, but don’t think they will be able to know what to do. These things always happens on a Sunday when nothing is open.

Sarita I have not seen her pooping or urinating but will keep a close eye on that, she seems her normal happy self.

Thanks Jerseygirl, I also could only find the same thing, I have never squeezed the rabbits anal glands, wondering if it might be something to do with that.

Ebony seems to be ok, her poop is normal again with no blood. I will get her to the vet tomorrow for a check up.

                    Whoa, Lisa. That’s scary.
A normal vet on a Sunday would be able to see any injury or possibly the source of fresh blood, so it’s OK to take her if it continues bleeding.
I think by now it may be Monday where you are? I’d just say gently clean the area so if she bleeds fresh blood it will show up.
Good luck today at the vets.

That’[s kinda annoying that they advertise to be open then they aren’t. Grrr. I did notice that vet is also reptile specialist and had another listing and contact details but I didn’t post those. You obviously knew of them anyway . Hope you get some answers soon.

I don’t like the rabbit vet but have no other choice because she specialises in rabbits. They are very greedy and seem more interested in the fee than your rabbit.

I took Ebony up to the vet this afternoon after work, they weren’t open to drop her off this morning, she is staying overnight, the vet wasn’t on when I dropped her off at 4.30pm.

I will ring in the morning to see how she is and what the problem is.

Hugs Lisa! Let us know what the vet says! (((((((((Ebony!)))))))) I think I remember this happened to someone else and the vet couldn’t find a cause/reason?

I have to wait another three hours to find out how she went, been worrying about her.

It is 6.39am here and the vet will look at her at 9.45am, I am going to ring at10.00am to see how things went, if all ok I will pick her up after work. I’m crossing all crossable s.

The vet looked at her and couldn’t see anything wrong, told me if she does it again to bring the faeces up and they will check it.

She seems to be ok now, I will continue to keep a close eye on her.
