Well I think I maybe the saddest girl in the world today. Chubs passed away in my arms this morning. I think the hardest thing is not understanding what happened at all I took him into the vet for an appointment for a check-up, that I made after Comet died, just to be cautious. He also had an episode of diahrea yesterday. But other than that he was completely himself. He was eating. He’d had normal poops after the diahrea. He was his frisky, playful, obnoxious self. I spent hours petting him and snuggling him last night. He had a normal exam at the vet’s office. He was alert. His temp was good, his heart and lungs sounded good. His belly sounded good. She took him back to get a normal blood panel because of Comet’s death just to be on the safe side. She said he was perfectly okay for the blood draw and wasn’t acting too stressed. Then several minutes afterward, he started making a funny sound and trying to jump out of the vet tech’s arms. His breathing seemed labored so they gave him something and had him breathing in oxygen. She came to get me and I held him to try and calm him down and he was still on the oxygen. And he just…stopped breathing in my arms after a couple minutes. They tried CPR and re-starting his heart but they couldn’t get him back.

The vet was as upset as I was and she is running some tests because he appeared to be completely healthy today. Nothing about today led me to think at all that I’d be coming home by myself and I can’t wrap my head around it. It hurts. I have these bunny things and no bunny. And I just got flowers from the vet’s office. Oh guys I’m so so so sad. I really hope they are together somewhere.

This is my last picture of them together…they seemed very content here and the picture isn’t great quality because all I could reach was my phone and I didn’t want to disturb them. Just remembered I had it. July 25, 2012

I am so so sorry-losing both of your boys so close together is unimaginable. Try to take comfort that they’re together now, and watching out for each other, and over you.

OMG I just can’t believe this! I am heartbroken for you. It’s such a shock to the system dealing with the loss of one rabbit but having to deal with two of them so close together, and with really no notice?! Unbelievable. I am so sorry. Binky free Chubs and Comet.

                              – Annette

My blood turned to ice when I saw this post with the other, and so soon.  I am very sorry.

My heart truly fell to find this post this morning. I’m in tears because I know how much you loved both of them. You are not alone in your sorrow.

It’s so very upsetting to lose a bunny friend but especially so suddenly like that. And to not know why. I hope your vet is able to get you some answers.

Your boys were so beautiful and, I guess, they were made to be together, in this life and the next. And I truly believe you will be with them again too. ***Hugs***

My inbox is open if you need to talk or vent. Please take comfort in that they both had a wonderful life with a Momma who loved them. And now they will always be together and never have to be in pain or alone again.

OMG, Jenna, I just saw your post and thought “oh, no, not Chubs!”

Your vet sounds just devastated. What a terrible ordeal for all of you. I am sending you {{{{{{{{{{{{{Hugs and Comfort}}}}}}}}} but I know it won’t help.

Those are beautiful pictures. I am sure they are snuggling together just like that now across the Rainbow Bridge. I’m so sad.
