Last nite I put Ruby and her things in with Cotton.  She was having fun running fast thru all those boxes and tunnels.  I am relaxing reading the paper and I see Cotton chasing Ruby and Ruby’s head down in bite posture. OH noooo. What happened?

Is it cause I put them together at nite?  The wrong time?

Well I seperated them.   I am trying again tonite.

Maybe cause I have been gone the past 2 nites Cotton was thinking hey this is my time with Bunny Mom.  I did change my and their schedule.  I had gone to masjid for Ramaddan and got home about 11 pm  gone since 6pm.  Cotton is used to having me after 6 til bedtime.  He really wanted my attention last nite. I suppose.

AFter I put Ruby and things in the kitchen Cotton did binky’s.

Also I slept a lot yesterday I was tired. So they didn’t play til 6pm.  You know that could well be it. Change in schedule.

Or her running and playing made Cotton nervous. I have seen him on top of his littter holding container when she runs like that.

Well only they know.  So here goes again tonite lets see what they do.

          Oh, no!

Did you move and clean Cotton’s cage? Or is it in the same place (non-neutral territory)? Even if he’s nice sometimes, maybe he’s still getting territorial when he gets in a bad mood… What if you scrubbed out his cage and moved it to the opposite side of the room, or something, to get rid of his scent and throw off his sense of what’s his?

Sometimes bunnies will just get into tiffs that only they can understand. But maybe with the schedule change it caused a bit of a shift. Hard to know with just this little bit of info. Sometimes bunnies can get like this if they are hungry, so if their feeding schedule got off, that could also cause a bit more territorial display.

            How are they now?

he chased her again today.  I wonder if it is cuz I put Ruby’s box tunnel & litterbox in his territory.  They were doing so good too. Darn. I just dont understand what happened to cause this

I did close his cage door when they r together so Ruby can’t go in there.

it sounds like he’s still too territorial of his cage. so i think you should do a through cleaning of each cage and start switching the buns each night.

I agree with Beka, when you put her things (with her scent) in HIS cage, that was just a bit too much for him.

yes they were doing fine up until then. I put her toys in his xpen area.  I just don’t know tho. Maybe he isn’t cut out for this stuff.

You know Ruby is like that too. She goes after HB.  When I first got him I put them together and she goes   biting and boxing right off.  When Cotton goes up to her xpen she runs up and boxes and grunts at him.  Otherwise she doesn’t bother him.

Well with buns I just don’t know I will try some more again to get them together. I won’t give up just yet.

HE is sooo jealous still.  I did pet her and sit with her in a chair.  He gives those looks like what you doing with her. Hey what about me.

Also he and Laith got along great til after I had him neutered.  However I started giving Laith a lot more attention after that and Cotton got jealous and would come up and bite him when I was petting him.  I had to seperate them.

This is so confusing few days on and then off again.

Are you just letting them visit in each others territory or do you use a neutral space?

there really isn’t any neutral territory in here. Place is too small to find a spot.

I can trade them into each others play area’s I can use the other couch. Gosh Cotton was grooming Ruby and everything.  I  have a real small space I can make for them in the bedroom while hubby is not here. He doesn’t want them in the bedroom.

I have to move the xpen to make the space for them and keep them from under the bed.  Maybe go try that for another week b4 hubby comes home.
