  I am Going to be adopting a pair of sisters in the next few weeks, and was wondering if it is posoble to house them together after they get spayed. Or will they mess with each others incisions, If they do can i just use a belly band?

  I think it would be fine, I know I’ve heard people recommend keeping bonded pairs together even during recovery time. I would just keep an eye on them and make sure no one gets aggressive (which would be because they are in pain/scared/stressed), but they probably will just want to lay around.

  I have always kept my pairs together during spays/neuters. I had a female pair that were also spayed at the same time and never separated them.

  How old are they? Are you adopting babies? Are you 100% sure they are both girls?

  yup they are baby’s and according to the person who i am getting them from they are both girls .

  Well, you need to keep in mind that they might have to be separated prior to the surgery. Babies/siblings don’t have a “true bond”, and once hormones kick in, they may fight and need to be housed separately. In that case, I would still try and have them spayed the same day and see how they interact afterwards, but you’d probably be waiting a full 3-4 weeks to reintroduce them.

  They may remain bonded up to the surgery and in that case I would leave them together. There is also a good chance that they will go through puberty and decide they don’t like each other and in that case they’ll need to be separated. After they are spayed and have recovered for a couple weeks, you can start bonding them together again.

  I would have a vet check the sex to make sure they are both girls as a just in case…
