When I take my bunny out she loves it. but I made a new toy for her and now she waits by her cage door for me to let her out. So this is what I did: I took a little log that is about 7 in wide and 14 in long then I drilled holes in it and put a full corrot even the leaves and I stuffed mint and parsley in the other holes and then you put the log on cardboard and there you have it your toy.what do your bunnies do for play time?

Fun Question!  Oh, and now your bunny will have even more things to play with since you were the winner of the drawing for the Bunny Goodies.  Congratulations on that!   It was sent out yesterday to you.

What a great idea for the Toy Test too.  Do you have pictures of this homemade contraption?  I have had a few Toy Test ideas sent to me so far, which I will be using, but they were just a little too similar to the “Boredom Buster Box” to put post right after the box.

What kind of wood is it?

Two of my three bunnies, Rucy and Jack, love to explore.  I put a tube or a box on the floor, and even if they are in full lounge mode, they run over to check those things out.   They also love to chew the cardboard paper towel tubes, straw mats, willow stuff, and phone books.

Bailey – She is not much of a player or a chewer.  She usually guards the place.  She makes her rounds, chinning everything, every edge of a blanket, every shoe, every corner. Then after she’s done, she comes over and wants to be petted all of her waking hours.  Boxes will offer a slight interest, but only because they are another thing to mark with her chin.

She does enjoy clicker training, and she’s a quick learner,  but after 5 – 10 minutes she gets bored.

it does not matter what type of wood it is as long is it is safe  so it does not make bunny sick.

Lpuff – So which wood does your bunny prefer?

Just a heads up for anyone who doesn’t know what is considered safe:

There are woods, like redwood, that are toxic.  There are also woods that bear fruit that are toxic while alive, but if they are cleaned and dried for a month, then are safe.   I know certain soft woods are not good either, but I’ll need to research that further and post an update here.

My bunny Boo is a bit of a sook and just enjoys being petted for hours. When he does want to play he wizzes round the living room dashing in and out of the bean bags and round and round the coffee table. When he gets tired/dizzy from this he likes to hide and poke his head out of things. I got him a tube from a carpet which he loves but he chews it something fierce and its a pain to clean up every night so when i get paid next month im going to invest in a thing called a rabbit warren by snuggle safe. It is big green plastic tube ( non toxic) that can be strecthed and bent into shapes for your bunny to hide an walk through. You can also add more tubes to make a longer warren. Boo generally doesn’t play with food balls or toilet rolls etc  he likes the odd fight with the sofa but that’s it he is content just running round daft.

That rabbit warren thingie is great. Ever since I read your post, I’ve been looking around for one in the U.S.

Boohoo!  I can’t find it. I’ll keep looking.  BinkyBunny.com will be opening a store soon, so it would be great to sell that.  When you get your Bunny Warren, let us know how Boo takes to it.

my bun has two of the snuggle safe rabbit warrens! one is in his cage, and one is under the bed! they are fantastic, but dougal eats them just as much as cardboard. they also fit together, so i can join the two up if i want and have a really long one! my sister found them, in our village pet store of all places – so they’re definitely about!

it is a bit of a shame they’re luminous green though – it doesn’t exactly fit in with the natural surroundings! but it is fun, even for me, because it’s like a giant slinky and you can just keep opening and shutting them

let me know if you’d like a piccie of it in action!
