poops

goodmorning, i was cleaning Yeti’s box this morning and realized there was one single group of poop that resembled fish eggs… “/ 

they were runny-ish but still stuck together..

he seems back to normal now.. he had big noms for breakfast, he turned in to his usual poop machine again.. and now hes taking a nap.

is this just a weird “huh” moment? 

has this happened to anyone else?

is this common?

looked up pictures thats EXACTLY what it was,

ive never seen them before.. i imagine hes been eating them but he left this one behind.

so gross! ive hear/read up on them before but i’ve never been the one to look up pictures of poops.. so GROSS! blaaah, ill think twice next time i give him a kiss. (lol jk, i cant help myself when he looks so darn cute)

I would keep an eye on the cecals. Just as a passing thing to keep in the back of your mind as a bunny owner. If buns are being fed a too rich diet they will not their cecals like they’re supposed to. So if you see a bunch uneaten and lying around it can be a good indication to cut back on treats.

thanks for the info. the only thing i introduced before i even saw the cecals was a single raisin. “/

perhaps raisins arent for him?

(i introduced the single raisin the night before i found the plop of cecals)

*he’s not a “treat” bun… he will have banana but we dont keep them in the house… and he liked apples for a little while with no problem.. other than that he wont touch fruit and i refuse to buy store treats. his treats are his pellets.

Worst part of cecals is the smell! And also the diet adjustment if they recur.

Though raisins are acceptable and great rabbit treats, they are so iffy and risky for dogs/cats, that they are eliminated from my house-no grapes or raisins for any of us. The proverbial ‘they’ don’t know what the ingredient is that causes dogs/cats to die from consumption so they are a no no at my house period. I do craisins instead, tricky to find non-sugar added, but when you do they keep the same. Any fruit is as good a treat. I guess my point is, if they are bad for one pet they could be bad for another so may as well eliminate them if you can easily do so.

I’ve never given raisins either. Mostly because I don’t ever have them in the house. I only found out recently they were toxic to cats and dogs. K&K makes a good point.

hmmm, they do have that wonderful “bulk barn” here. i wonder if they might have something.. i know they have dried apricots. which i actually love eating so those could be an option.. my Husband enjoys taking raisins with him to work so i tried one with Yeti.. obviously not the best choice. -.-‘ ohwell! live and learn.. 

there were no cecals this morning during the litter scoop. so im thinking its completely out of his system and we’re almost back to normal.
