  I want to get my bunny a nice hay rack/manger but I cant find any nice ones online, I find plenty of them from the UK but none in the USA. So I have decided that I would try to build him one instead. What wood would be safe to use for this?

  Go to Etsy.com and search for bunny hay feeder, or just look up BunnyRabbitToys or BedsBunsAndBeyond on Etsy. They make some cute hay feeders. I have a few of them. Some are maybe a bit pricey, but slowly and surely I’m swapping out al my homemade hay feeders etc, with their extra cute designs. For construciton, I use pine wood.

  I did find some really cute ones on etsy when I searched earlier but they are out of my budget especially for this time of year. My father works in woodworking though so if I bring him some materials he can make me something nice I just need to make sure that the wood is safe and won’t hurt my bunny.

  Besides pine, birch wood is okay to use for rabbits. You have to make sure that any wood you use is untreated, of course.

  Thanks! I found some untreated kiln fried pine at lowes and Home Depot, I didn’t see birch but I saw poplar. I am hoping that a hay manger will help contain the hay better than the cheap rack I have now.
