It’s been 6 days since i started using pee pads and I’ve gone through 24. Mind you if he only poos i would scoop them off. So he’s peed an average of 2.5 times a day. He had really gotten to where he was mainly just pooping then yesterday and today he peed lakes. I see him wiggle his butt up to bsck of sofa, get real still and then i can hear him peeing! I am beginning to think he is just thinking it is easier to just pee on sofa than to hop over to litter box. Is it laziness, bad litter box habits now?

I put up ex pen fence across basement so he is confined to smaller area and no access to sofa. He has litter box in cage and one on floor outside of cage. I’ve got cage door open so he can come and go. He had been binkying and flopping so i don’t think there’s any physical issue. He’s rattling fence. It has taken him a while to be happy in his new room, I’m worried confining him will upset him again. But i also can’t let bad litter box habits develop

If he’s marking will he not just go right back to marking when i let him have access again? How long do i confine his space?

Ok so i stood up from chair and he flipped out and flung himself at fence. This happened once before and his face got stuck in fence and he started screaming. It was the worst thing I’ve ever heard.

So why is he so scared?? I am petrified of using ex pens because of this experience!!

Was he resting? He couldve been asleep and you scared him. My bunnies fall asleep doing weird things, so i make sure if im going to move/get up, i just let them know. “Buns, im getting up”, so they arnt completely startled

Mikey. No he was wide awake and rattling the ex pen. I might have moved a little too quickly. And was coming from behind. But i had done it three times before that. I would go lay down behind him and pull mats off his butt. He usually never allows me near his butt but he was so enthralled with rattling i got several mats off him. Of course he would run away after a little bit. So i was stopping the rattling and getting some grooming done too. I’m not exactly sure why he reacted so strongly except i msybe moved too fast that time. I think if he just didn’t want to be groomed he would’ve ran away and not fling himself into the fence.

Sigh i wish i was a bunny mind reader

Its ok It sounds like he got spooked. He couldve been so focused on rattling that time that he didnt see/hear you at first. If he is ok, i wouldnt worry too much about it
