So recently adopted this 4 year old true dwarf…she told me he was used as a breeding buck extensively for his first 3.5 years…then she got him and bred him a few times…she said he usually just chilled about but was never spoiled, usually kept in a cage and shed brush him and play with him a little but he wouldn’t do much, then school came up so now I adopted the little guy….I have been doing my darnedest to spoil him. He sits with me anywhere I am in the apartment…but ….he will not really move much. Idk if he is tired from stressful lock up till time to breed from the first owner or what…he will literally sit beside me and maybe hop around a few feet here or there. But that’s it…and treats of any kind? Not really interested…loves head rubs and loves being brushed but yeah ….idk if I should be worried or what? I love the little guy. His name is Gollum by the way.

Sounds like he doesnt know how to play or know what treats are given that the first few years of his life he was pretty neglected unless it came to breeding. Keep spoiling the little guy the best you can, he may learn to understand it as he gets more comfortable with you

Okay. So 4 years isn’t really old for him? I’m happy to say he appears to be opening up a little bit! Standing up more…grinds his teeth like crazy if I give him a head rub. And if I put him on my bed he stetches out now. So okay. I’ll just keep up the love. Glad to hear the response, and glad to see him opening up a little will keep checking if anyone else has any ideas

How long have you had your bunny? He may just still be stressed out and not sure about his new home. Some bunnies take quite a while to feel comfortable in a new home.

Bunnies are like people. Some like to play and are more active. Some are lazy. I don’t consider 4 old at all. Especially a small breed. Bunnies are considered senior around 6 but they can live into the teens so even 6 is not really old.

If your bun is eating, pooping and otherwise seems healthy, I wouldn’t worry.

Sounds like a normal bunny to me. Then again, mine are both lazy. LOL

i’ve had him about 2 weeks now…and like i said the previous owner had 100 rabbits and bred them all regularly, and caged them afterwards, but she tried to provide love just had so many, but she said the owner before her literally neglected him….but you guys were right…he is opening up quite a bit…before if i even moved while sitting next to him he would lay flat on the floor like he hoped I wouldn’t see him or something….now he is actually moving around jumping on me….climbing over me….playing with the cat….my gf says she thinks he has brain damage or something because he kinda has a space cadet look to him (lol) but idc i love him….I hope he continues to open up even more! thank you all for your support
