hey guys, so I took my baby to the vet this morning for a check up and a nail trim as well as a gender determination. She jumped off the table twice and  I freak out. The vet accidentally clips one of her quick and she cried ( she made a noise so I assumed she’s in pain). I got mad at the vet . So now she’s mad at me and won’t eat anything. I tried to feed her grass and she would not touch it I’m so stressed out and i don’t know what to do. This is my first bunny.

The vet told me it’s a girl but I told him I felt testes. Should I go to a different vet to get her check out again?

I don’t trust this vet because he told me that I shouldn’t worry about getting her spayed . I asked him don’t they get ovarian cancer? and he said no. I will get her fixed either way when she’s around 8-10 months old.

Was the vet you went to a vet certified to work on rabbits? Not all vets have taken classes and worked with rabbits, they need to be certified for that. If your vet is not, youll want to look up exotic certified or rabbit certified vets in your area and go to one of those instead. Your vet should have helped you out much more as they should know stress can kill a rabbit, and that not eating is a sign of stress and/or pain

Has she eaten anything yet? If not, try giving her most favorite treat. If she does not take that, youll need critical care or pellet mash. To make pellet mash, you just need pellets and water. Make a liquid goo out of a mixture of water and pellets, and fill a feeding syringe with it. Give your bunny a drop or two under the lip, and see if she will swallow it. If she does not (lets it drop out of her nose or lip), she needs to be taken to another vet as soon as possible as she has the beginning stages of stasis

I called them and ask if any vet knows anything about rabbits and they said that Dr x ( the one that checked on my rabbit) knows about exotic pets. She nibbles 2 pellets ( I counted) and she’s pooping but her poop is extremely small and she hid in her house the whole day . I tried to let her free roam and she would not leave.

It definitely sounds like you need another vet. The one you went to doesn’t sound very knowledgeable about rabbits and he nor the vet tech if there was one, doesn’t seem to know how to properly hold or restrain a rabbit during an exam and procedure. Is there a possibility that your rabbit got injured when she/he jumped off the table twice? If she is experiencing any pain, that would make her reluctant to eat. Hopefully, you have been able to syringe feed her a pellet mash or get some Critical Care, or she has starting eating on her own. Even if she has started eating, you really should watch her closely and see if she is having trouble hopping or moving, which might indicate that she got injured when jumping off the table. I hope that she will be okay soon and that you will be able to find a good vet.

Thank you. she’s eating fine now. I Think I really need to go find a better vet, I mean Dr.X literally hold her and let her kicks her back leg so I have to tell him to hold it or else she might break her back. I’m still mad at him. either way I’m spending around 5 hrs a day with her just to make sure she’s ok.
