        Hi,

So I have two rabbits, Frankie and Cash, and for the most part they will not get onto our bed. Now the one exception seems to be food related. As my wife and I get into bed, we do give the bunnies craisins as their daily treat. Our one bunny, Cash, will even anticipate my wife and I getting ready for bed (like if we are standing around brushing our teeth or engaging in our other nightly routine) and run up onto the bed (we have pet stairs leading up to the bed). But once craisins are distributed, the bunnies will quickly descend back onto the ground and go about their normal lives. On the rare occasion we’ve been able to cox them onto staying on the bed and having a nice petting session but that’s maybe 2% of the time. The second time the bunnies will hop onto the bed, is to wake me and my wife up on the morning to feed them pellets and greens. They’re like children I swear!!!

And sometimes I also caught the bunnies, mainly our alpha bunny Frankie, on the bed when no one was there in. Typically I get a “oh crap” look, she’ll sniff around some more before descending. But as much as my bunnies like to be pet (on their terms of course), they do no like to be petted (for the most part) on the bed. I’ve read before that bunnies don’t like heights, which could one reason. Another reason if maybe the bunnies think the bed in “my” space and they shouldn’t be on it (like how they think I shouldn’t invade their space).

But I’m just curious as to what other members think and what their experiences have been.

I have one bunny who sleeps at the foot end of my bed. He also wakes me in the morning, sometimes very early, to get his breakfast. He spends his day on the floor though, only gets up onto the bed in late afternoon/evening.

My other bunny hops up onto the couch for craisins or other treats, but once the treats are eaten, he doesn’t linger. (He’s not allowed in the bedroom because that’s the other bun’s territory):

One of my rabbits use to be in a room with a bed and she would get on top on it. It amazed me that a tiny rabbit that wasn’t even 2lbs could just that high. I put something at the end of it so she could get off and on the bed without hurting herself. I am glad she no longer lives in a room with a bed. She chewed on the bed and did quite a lot of damage to it but we didn’t care. We now have a new bed in that room which is officially a guest room.

I realllly want to get pet stairs for our bed but I think my husband would kill me!! And when I have brought the buns up there they just want down. They are always looking for food lol.

But you know, Pumpkin used to jump up on the couch to sit and snuggle with us and she hardly ever does that anymore. Maybe she doesn’t need us now that we have Rocky?!

My Henry spends more time on my bed than I do! It is so funny to walk into my room to grab something and Henry is laying on the bed, ha ha! Cracks me up! Then Henry will jump on while I am watching TV at night, and in the morning – just whatever… He treats the bed and our home the same as our dog’s do. Right now I am at my desk and I just turned around and 2 of my 3 dog’s AND Henry are laying on the dog bed behind me, LOL!

                  Classic bunny! Ha ha ha….

I don’t think mine could get up on the bed if they tried. It’s SUPER tall. I have put Leopold up there before. He hops around, looking for food, and then loses interest and wants down. I don’t know if I’ve ever put Wooly on the bed. Both would us the dog ramp to get on the couch though. Of course that was always short lived. They would come up, say hi, let me pet them for a second or two and then lose interest when they saw there was no food to be had. *sigh*

BTW, I love the name Cash. I’m rather partial to it since it’s my dog’s name. She’s 16. =\

Great feedback everyone! Frankie and Cash spend a lot of their time underneath the head of our bed. Usually there or near one of the two HVAC vents or in the middle of the bedroom floor. They are super cute though when they get on the bed. We have a sunrise alarm clock, which simulates a sunrise and this morning I wasn’t up quick enough and I could feel one of the bunnies (turns out it was Cash) was jumping on the bed!!!
