        HI everyone!

I know a lot of you have companions for your buns.  I recently have had thoughts of getting Winnie a friend. Winnie has her own bedroom(she’s a spoiled one). Im still not sure I want to get her one though. I work 8 hours a day monday-Friday. and so winnie is alone that whole time until i get home. I do spend a lot of time with her when I can. She seems to be happy, but im not sure if she would be happier with a friend. Do your buns seem to be happier with a friend?  and when you got them their friend do they still love you lots? (weird ? I know), but Winnie really loves me, she runs after me and waits for me to get home so i can give her love and her salad..shes my little buddy.  Also, if i do get her a friend I would like it to be a much larger bun(winnie is a netherland Dwarf and she is 3.4 ILBS) I would like one maybe around 10-12 pounds. Does anyone have a small bun with a larger bunny friend? I dont want large bunny to hurt Winnie even if they are nice to each other.. or crush her. Ive been looking at other bunnies I would like to get, but I do not plan on getting another rabbit until a couple months from now. Winnie gets spayed this month, I will not make my decision for a new bun for at least 2-3 months after her spay. Other bunny will also be neutered/spayed.  Also, after bonding and I know for sure they can be together is okay to let them free roam together? even when im at work? I do not want to come home to injured bun because one or the other got to sassy with the other one. How has having two rabbits been with you guys..compared to having one rabbit. has it been good or bad for original bunny?   I always see pics  of everybodys bunnies with a friend and they just seem so happy.

Please let me know, I am really interested

Well I would say, ” 8 hours alone or with a friend ? ” is an easy answer… and indeed ” 8 hours alone or with a bully? ” is an easy answer too !

Bonding would have to take place and then absolutely, a friend is a great thing to have.
Even when they’re not bonded they could be side by side in a cage – that is nice company too.
Though bonded couples are of course a great preference.

I have a lone bun, but she has a cat for company and I return home during the day. I have thought about getting her a bunfriend, but it’s not that a simple question for me at the moment. But without a doubt, were I to get rescue buns in the future, I would get a bonded couple. Absolutely YES !

Thanks for your reply. I would hope she wouldn’t resent me if I got her a bun friend. I am not sure that I would want to yet, I am waiting a couple months after her spay to see if she truly would love another bun. I just feel bad me being gone most of the day and leaving her up to her bunny imagination to company her.

You could get another one now and keep them side by side….
Absolutely she would not resent you – they don’t have human feelings like that. I think she would love you even more for getting her a friend to keep her company.

Thats actually a really good idea, that way by the time her spaying is over she will already “know” the other bun friend. I would love to get a larger rabbit though, I wonder how it is to have a small and large rabbit together. Hopefully someone who knows will comment!
I truly appreciate your help though!
