Hi, I’m a relatively inexperienced bunny owner and I lost my rabbit a few months earlier to gastric problems…
Now my current rabbit had congested sneezing a few days ago and a strange gurgling sound(once) a few days ago, so I was rather concerned and I brought him to the vet. The vet said he seemed healthy, except that some if his poo was small and that if the poo got smaller we should administer this mobility drug metoclopramide … So after the car ride he pooped smaller poop and didn’t poop any more till eight hours later, which was all small poop, could it be stress from the car ride? Now, his poop has gotten slightly bigger and is better now, just wondering what are the effects of the mobility drug and is it advisable to start giving him fresh greens, and what kind of fresh greens should I give him? Thank you for your help!

It may very well have been caused by stress from the car ride.

Small size poop is best remedied with lots of hay, if your bunny will eat it. Fresh greens are very good for bunnies but should be introduced slowly and one at a time. Good bunny greens are f ex Romaine lettuce, fresh herbs such as mint, cilantro, basil. The motility drug helps his intestines move like they should – intestines need to move in order to push the the food through them. A nbunny’s tummy must never be empty, so that must be avoided. It’s best if he fills up on hay, it has lots of fibre and bunnies need fibre. Critical care is an option, some bunnies eat that voluntarily esp if it is mixed with puréed banana or pumpkin. Some bunnies will absolutely not eat it of their own accord, then it needs to be fed with a syringe.

I’m sorry about your bridge-bunny. GI trouble is very common in bunnies.

Small poop=observation time. If everything goes back to normal great. But there is the chance it is the start of stasis.
Hopefully if it is stasis there is no physical blockage.
Vet can give pain mess (very important) a GI mobilizing agent and you can buy him baby simethicone at the drug store.
