After browsing the forum, I came across the phenomenon that is hay tea?! I’m wondering how many of you give this to your buns, and if so, how often? I like the idea of trying something a bit different for my two, they drink plenty of water so I don’t need to encourage them to drink more. They might enjoy it though! Also, dumb question but when the hay has steeped/brewed and the water has cooled, do I leave the hay in the bowl or remove it?

          Hay there (pun intended).

I’ve never given my pair hay tea, although I would use it if I needed to encourage a sick bunny to drink. I would remove the hay from the bowl after it has cooled, it will make the water easier to drink, plus who wants to be eating soggy hay?

BB Member Ellie from the Netherlands discussed Hay tea on pg 7 and 8 of the Oct pic thread, if you’d like to take a look.

Never made hay tea, but it’s an idea I’ve been meaning to do since Ellie mentioned it.
