Hi everyone, I’ve been using pine pellet litter for Olaf and am really happy with it. The absorption and odor control have been great. However, I feel like I’m not getting the full potential. I use a corner litter pan with a grate. I line it with a folded paper towel and add a layer of the pellets. Of course, Olaf only urinates in the main corner so that area of pellets is soaked while the two front corners stay dry. Is there any way to get a second use out of the unused pellets while removing the old sawdust? I tried scooping but it can be pretty tedious and often the top looks dry but underneath has been soiled from any excess moisture.

Right now I’m emptying his bin every other day, or every three days, depending on how much he’s used it. Any suggestions to get the most out of this type of litter?

Just put the pellets in that corner.

Bandit always peed in one corner as well. I would scoop out the really bad areas, and if you have a sifting scoop you can scoop up the good pellets and shake any loose wet pellets free from them with the scoop providing the holes in your scoop are small enough to keep the wood pellets in. I hope that makes sense. It can be tedious, but it uses much less litter than getting rid of the whole lot.
