I have read many sites saying what to feed and not to feed your bunnys in regards to veggies…… but there are certain items that are acceptable on some pages but then extremely bad for bunnies on another….

since you all feed your bunnies greens and veggies – Id rather ask you for a list of veggies you feed your rabbits regularly so i can start making a set grocery list and not have to worry about making by bunny ill.

Soooo any shopping list would be appreciated along with any veggies you WILL NOT feed your bunny…

        THanks!~

          Don’t feed:

          iceburg lettuce
          onions
beans or peas (their is one acceptable type and I can never remember so I just don’t bother with them)
          potatoes
          garlic
          beets

This is my fav list, reputable source: House Rabbit Society

This is the list that I use…  https://binkybunny.com/Default.aspx?tabid=144

I have it printed out and I keep it in my purse.

Also I would recommend comparing the produce departments of your local grocery stores- some are far superior to others in my area.  Price, selection and freshness of the veggies can really vary from store to store even in the same town.

I base what I buy on what looks the freshest.  I only shop once a week- and the veggies stored in Green Bags in the refrig easily last that long.

I buy 3-4 green leafy veggies (romaine, parsley, collard greens, etc) and then I usually buy what I jokingly call the “salad topper veggie”- like broccoli, fennel, snow peas, etc…

My Bunny is almost 3 months old…. so not an adult yet…… the BINKY BUNNY VEGGIE LIST says for adult rabbits….. do you think these will still be okay for her since she is younger….. I know I should only introduce one veggie at a time…. so far she LOVES dandelion greens….

you can start introducing one veggie at a time anywhere betw/ 8 and 12 weeks. give a small amount and watch the bun/poop carefully to make sure he’s okay. you can then begin to increase the amounts up to the recommended 2-4 cups daily as he gets older.
