Cotton seems happy to be the center of my attention.  HE has been doing fine since their seperation.

Ruby however hasn’t eaten all day.  Wouldn’t even take the papaya tablet.  That is a bad sign.  So tonite I hae her in teh living room.  They groomed each other then Cotton started chasing her .

I bet thats why Ruby bit his lip like that. When Cotton started chasing her I put her on the table with me while I ate.  They seem ok now. I hope she starts eating agian.

She will still be in the bathroom when I am gone or sleeping at nite.

Awe they are lying side by side now.   I guess they missed each other.  Ruby sure did.   She has never been without a bunny friend.

I took a nap and Ruby was in the bed with me. I groomed her. Held her in my rocker on the porch.

I imagine y’all are all busy with xmas.  Your families etc.

          Not everyone, BT.
Sammykins ran around earlier this evening, and is now flopped out in her cage. She’s content with munching pellets and occasionally gnawing on the bars.

I’ve been baffled by what’s been happening with Cotton and Ruby, so left it to the bonding experts to advise you. Glad they’re getting along tonight.

I have just given up on the bonding.   Just keep them as they are and let them play together an hour or 2 in the evenings.

Ruby ate good.  I got up this morning and checked.  Hurrah.  she seems perky too.

Cotton you would think I am trying to kill him.   He struggles and squeaks now when I try to put his neosporin on.  It is almost all healed up anyways.  I may ask hubby for some help holding him or he can dab the glob of med on his face for me.

Buns are so crazy I was going crazy with them for a while.

So no big day for you today huh?  ME neither all is quiet.  Hubby is napping. I am here on bb.

Fixing to go groom Cotton.  OH he puts up a fuss about that too. Gosh this 3lb2oz stick of dynomite. Well when he starts shedding look out he is really going to hate all that grooming.  Oh well.

Nope, just home quietly with the bunny. Actually, it’s a pretty day out, so I just rehung some curtains in Sammy’s room. I’d put up a pair I’d had that were a beautiful lavender damask, but they were too heavy and blocked to much light. I want them for privacy at the corners of the window where I am sitting on the computer, but I found a pair I’d never used (close out of curtain shop years ago) that are a perfect light blue match to a fabric I covered a pillow with that’s in this room. Anyway, they’re up now, let in more light, match well and I feel accomplished.

I also took one of the other curtains and wrapped it around the sleeping bag I have stuffed under my couch. A certain bunny squeezed past all barriers except the sleeping bag, but it’s so ugly I couldn’t stand looking at it. Now it kind of looks like a lavender bolster, which is better.

She just flopped, so I guess she had a good morning.

I am seriously considering starting a diet. For me that means either going back to weight watchers (I got out my old books today) or substituting the sweets and snacks with healthy food and seeing if I start losing that extra baggage.

BT, Cotton rules your roost. It’s that simple. Lucky for him he’s soooooo cute. I love Ruby and Honey Bun.

By the way, I saw a brush on line that was once highly recommended. I still haven’t bought a glove, so I may order this. I emailed them first, and if it’s still being sold I think I’ll try it.

It’s just a PO box in Concord, MA, so I’m a bit leery of sending a check to them, but if they seem legit in their reply, I think I’ll get one.

Hi BT, I’m having a quiet day too, went through all the family stuff last night.

I’ve been following the Ruby/Cotton story and wonder if it could be a bit like my situation with Pringles and Daisy. Pringles was my first, we got her at the feed store (bad, I know, I didn’ t know about rabbit rescues then)

After reading about how they crave companionship, I found Daisy, brought him home and bonded them. They seemed to get along ok, Daisy was very attentive to Pringles and Pringles accepted the attention but never really returned it. But they were the only house rabbits I’d ever had so I thought it was going great.

Later that year, I brought home little Toby from the local shelter to foster. From the moment Pringles discovered Toby, it was love at first sight. She completely dumped poor Daisy and wouldn’t budge from Toby’s cage. After a disaterous try at bonding all three, I let Pringles stay with Toby permanently as a couple. Later I took Daisy to Dallas for bunny dating and came home with Lola, whom he basically picked up.

I guess what I’m saying is that while Ruby and Cotton may have accepted each other, maybe they’re not ‘soulmates’. they will be perfectly happy to coexist close together but maybe don’t feel attracted enough to do the complete bonding/grooming/couple thing. Just room mates.

Pringles with Toby is completely different than she was with Daisy. While still queen, she is very attentive to Toby, grooms him and never leaves his side for long, things she never did for poor Daisy. She was content with Daisy, but she is completely happy with Toby.

Maybe Ruby and Cottons true loves are still out there somewhere and you will wind up with 10 bunnies one day! Definitely not wishing that on you, BT, but that’s how I went from 2 to 6!

                  Merry Christmas to you, Kathy

Hmm that hair buster shedding comb looks great.  I need one of those.  I stuck it in fav’s for when I can order it hopefully in Jan.

Ahh you got the perfect curtains. Cool.  Yeah the little rascals Cotton is good at slipping past all the towels/cloths etc. I put to block him from under or beind the couch.  Only the xpen will keep him out.  The cushions are there too. I have 1 xpen crammed and folded between the 2 couches. Only 1 he can get behind.

You have stuffed a sleeping bag.  Yes it would work good. Even if bun digs at it it is too big to move. Ahaha.  smart idea.

Had a good day here too.  Cleaned litterboxes the floors and such. Went to the xmas gathering at the club house. Was a nice dinner. Then we go to clean up and that dumb bossy Donna tells me the frigie is full I can’t put the food in it. Ha. I said no it isn’t and continued on my way.  The frigie was empty I just but the butter in it.  Made her mad.  Good.  She is so doggone bossy.  People dont’ like her much. Anyways that was about it for xmas drama around here hehehee.  Mild. Hardly noticeable.

I took Cotton downstairs when I went to talk to the neighbor. She is such a sweet person. I really like her. I bring her the paper after I get done reading it.   Cotton didn’t seem to mind.

I groomed Ruby and sat with her outside. Then did Cotton.

Yeah I am just going to keep them seperate except for an hour or 2 of playtime.  They really like lying next to each other. A lot.

NOOOO  I dont’ want to bunny date and get 2 more rabbits. I would have to rent an apartment just for me to live in hehee.

Gosh you have  6 buns. How do you do it?

It’s fine – and that comb is awesome.  I got half a bunny off Pepper last night with it

Thanks, Wendyski. It must have been you that first recommended it. As soon as they reply (so I know they have them in stock) I’ll mail out my order.

I agree w/ KS, sometimes it seems like they are bonded but it isn’t as indepth as when they find their true soulmate.  I think Jessica and Oreo were more roommates than soulmates.  I couldn’t tell the difference until she bonded w/ Leo, for them it was love at first sight.  It’s all kinda sick & twisted when I think that she had Trigger’s babies and ended up falling for Leo…..I guess she was just loose in those days

We had Xmas lunch at my mother in-laws and then went to visit cousins for dessert…..but dessert ended up being dinner.  I ate so much food yesterday that I totally lost track of my WW points!  I feel Xmas is so much more fun w/ children and at the cousins house it looked like Christmas completely threw up in their house.  It was amazing to watch such chaos & excitement!

My ex husband was a vet nurse in an emergency hospital.  He always worked the holidays, so we never really did anything to celebrate.  My family all lives in Chgo & I live in Philly, so we never did anything.  Kind of depressing compared to my holidays now.  Merry Ho-ho’s everyone, no matter how you celebrate!

This is one session when I first got it.  It’s awesome.  That’s about what I got off Christmas Eve as well – and a 6×9 envelope and a sz 8 shoe for comparison.

                                RabbitPam-

I tried emailing before and did not get a response..here are some other links

                                http://www.hairbuster.com/combs.html

“Save A Bunny” and “Cats and Rabbits and More” look like they are sold out of the combs right now.

I love the hairbuster- I am planning on buying a couple more and putting them away- just so I always have one- they work awesome on the bunnies and my cats.

What are the differences b/t the hairbuster and the furminator?  Any comparisons?

I dont’ know I only have the furminator right now.  I wouldn’t use the ferminator every day on a shedding bunny.  It is heavy and you must be careful to keep a light hand with it.   I wasn’t careful enuf and scraped poor little cotton boo’s skin raw under his arms.  B4 I noticed what happened.

Save a bunny used to sell the hairbuster. I can’t get into their store though.  I emailed them to ask about it.
