Well once again we spotted a couch downstairs being tossed out.  In very good shape too. Firmer than ours and not so long making more room in the apt.

Well to get that huge monsterous old couch out (it was getting sloppy)  We had a very hard time with it. Finally hubby said here lets put it over the balcony and I will go down and catch it.  So here I am trying to hold onto a couch by the legs.  The rest of it was over the balcony.  So hubby lets go to go downstairs to catch it ( which I told him to be careful I don’t want to drop it on him and I didn’t think I could hold it is too heavy)

Well as he lets go and takes a step it slipped from my hands. So we literraly dumped a couch over the balcony. rofl.  That was funny. It didn’t make any noise thank God.  9 pm and trying to be quiet about it so the neighbors don’t get bothered.

        It didn’t break anything either.

IT is so big we could not get it downstairs it must have been 8 feet long. The way the stairs are it wouldn’t fit to go down.

So over the balcony it went. Saved us a lot of work.  lol

Oh, I moved liked that in college at the end of the year. For two years I lived on the 4th floor. Let me tell you what, that giant futon cushion weighed a ton, so it would get thrown over the balcony and fall 4 floors down… Worked pretty well

I love “trash finds” like that!
He, he, he, “legs sticking out the bottom like in the Wizard of Oz.”

That reminds me of the “Friends” Episode where Ross gets a new couch – it gets stuck in the stairwell – he keeps yelling “pivot!” Then returns the couch – cut in half!

I once had an apartment in a old house – I move everything in through the big living-room window because the front hall was so small. He, he.

before we got married, we were looking for a place and we visited a third floor walk-up apartment that had a staircase that went up one way, then turned and went up the other direction. we were in there for about 3 minutes and we’re like, “uh there’s no way we could get anything up here…” the landlord said that the last tenant had to raise stuff over the balcony. and since i was (ahem) already with child, we decided to pass… LMAO!

When we move out, we’re getting movers!! Not doing that ever ever again…unfortunately we weren’t smart like you and hubby, we viewed it and figured their must an elevator somewhere…. ugh!!
