        Hi Everyone!

As you all know, I have me beloved Horton, who is growing FAST! This weekend, mom and I decided to get a new little girl… we couldn’t resist, and thought Hortie would like a friend.

She is pictured below… her name is Honey.

We are adoring her… she is SO tiny, and her personality is coming out wayyy before Horton’s did. She already flops, and loves to eat hay!

The second day, I thought I would introduce the two… he chased her around for a bit, and then immediately mounter her FACE and started humping her! I was horrified, HAHA!

So I have kept them seperate since, but he has been acting a bit crazy. At night, I keep them in the same room, but in seperate cages. I’m assuming it’s now time to get him neutered, but then will they be able to live in the same cage, or no? And will he calm down? And stop marking everywhere?!

Oh my, she’s adorable but she is very young. You definitely want to keep them separate until he is neutered and she is just a little bigger in case he injures her.

yes, keep them separate until he is neutered.

she is the sweetest little thing…

i think you should keep them nearby each other, but not too close so they can fight thru the cages. after he is neutered, make sure to wait a month (or two would be better!!!) so he can heal and the hormones can leave his system. you can try then to introduce them again. she will be able to be spayed betw/ 5 and 7 months.

when are you getting him neutered?

After I neuter him will he stop marking? Every time I put him back in his cage, he pess in the corner… and it’s foul-smelling. Ugh.

Can you put a litter box in the corner he pee’s in.

It will take about a month after the neuter surgery for his hormones to die down, but yes, it should get better, less pungent. However, anytime you introduce a new bunny to the mix, there will be some territorial marking until they are bonded.

He’s likely doing that more so since she’s there-extra bunnies make for poop/pee wars! Could you keep them in seperate rooms maybe?

She is freaking adorable!! Is she bald yet from non-stop cuddling? I love the name-Horton and Honey

Hahaha, poor Horton got the wrong side I had a little bunny that used to have a crush on a great big bunny and he would mount her face because he wasn’t big enough to mount her backside!

Yes, you’ll have to keep them separate until he is neutered, and she is bigger. As she starts to get a bit older, if he is still unneutered, be very careful about making sure he doesn’t accidentally get in the same area with her because female bunnies get pregnant REALLY quickly once they get old enough.

If he is peeing in the same corner consistently, put a litter box there, in my experience territorial marking goes all over the place, so he may just prefer to use that corner as a potty, and a litterbox may just solve the problem completely.

What kind of rabbit is Honey? I was just curious

Edited: Curious because when I come to bun-nap her I should probably know a little about her

I am SO sad to say Honey passed away on Monday night. I’m not sure what happened… she may have been sick… when I came home she was on her back in her cage, and still had food and water. I pulled her out, and she was still breathing, but eyes half closed and cpmpletely limp. I tried to get some water in her (thinking she may have been dehydrated)… she started mvoing around a bit, then two hours later she took 3 big gasps, and she was gone. I bawled all night…
I guess Horton was meant to be an only bunny…

                                  Thank you guys.

I actually did wonder about her being weaned too early. She was SO tiny and helpless when I got her. I am glad I got to hold her in her last moments, instead of finding her dead. Sweet little girl… and as for Horton, I can’t believe how big he has gotten! HAHA!

so sorry to hear about your sweet Honey girl.  She was really precious. Don’t give up though. Maybe you can adopt a bun friend for horton at a shelter.  That way   she will already  be  spayed.
