well if you live in the orange county area, ive done a little research on several clinics close to orange county, if not a tad bit further. as i find out more about other places i will update but i will most likely not be calling around anymore becaue i have an appointment on Tuesday April 24th 2007 so you are welcome to add to the list. =) however, there were other calls that i made to the LA area but i dont have them on the list in front of me right now but i would be happy to post them later (if i still have them that is).

many of these were found on Rabbit House Society (http://www.rabbit.org/) under vets but i took the liberty of calling for the price to save you several phone calls.
(***others that are not seen on House Rabbit Society will be posted later***)

Stanton Pet Hospital
714-828-5891

8591 Katella Ave

Stanton , CA 90680 —2725

spay ($75) & Neuter ($53.50)
Note: i have an appointment with them. =) they are closer to me than many other places, least expensive and earlier appointment time. when calling you should ask about pain injection on their procedure, something i should call back for.

Westminster Veterinary Group

714-899-1100

6621 Westminster Blvd.

Westminster , CA 92683-3704

spay ($197) - they stay over night because it is more complicated and pays for costs of pain injection and monitoring.
Neuter ($149.50) - no overnight but also pays for pain injection and monitoring.
they allow you to meet with doctor to see how he/she is. (i think most places allow you to though)

Yorba Linda Veterinary Hospital

714-777-2314

4872 Olinda St .

Yorba Linda , CA 92886

Spay ($150) & neuter ($100)

Brook-Ellis Pet Hospital
714-963-0440

18542 Brookhurst

Fountain Valley , CA 92708-6708

spay ($244.50) & neuter ($175)

VCA Rossmoor El Dorado Animal Hospital

562-598-8621

10832 Los Alamitos Blvd.

Los Alamistos, Ca  90720-2333

you have to go to their office for an estimate...... - - " (dont like the sound of that) & you have to pay for a checkup before the doctor operates (where the doctor will give you a price)

Arbor Animal Hospital

949-551-2727

14775 Jeffrey Road , Suite F

Irvine , CA 92620-2669

spay ($179) & neuter ($162) Note: there is a $57 fee for a physical before the doctor will operate on your pet.

all and all, i like the one in stanton however, if not all vets do the pain injection and the full monitoring, i would lean towards the one in westminister. but ofcourse it all depends on you. they are all experienced with buns. ive never been to anyone of the following so i cant tell you more but i will be going to the one in stanton so ill update you on what goes on. ^ ^ hope it helped.

I've noticed that you put Westminster Vet group on this list...... I had a bad experience at that vets when my bunny had an infected bite on his ear. We were there at the vets for a total of three and a half hours, just for a fur clip and wound clean. I think the problem was we were seen by a tech first then the vet then another tech then the vet again..... we were kept waiting so long between seeing each person. Edward was so stressed out he was open mouth breathing! I was so worried about this but they didn't seem too concerned. Aso the vet was not so good at handing him and was totally unable to check his teeth. But that's just my experience.
I go to a vets in Irvine now- Nothwood Animal Hospital and they are always so helpful- we've been having Edward seen there for a problematic respiratory infection, Dr Pursley calls us once a week to see how he's getting on and Edward loves her. I've never seen him so happy to be picked up (he is not a huggable bun!). I believe they do spay/neuter there as well.
Thanks so much to you Poopy for the recomendation!!! : )

well ive never been to any of these places yet so i recomended that people meet the doctor first. my visit at Northwood was just a little different than yours. dr Pursley was great however, one of the nurses/techs didnt do so well when handeling my buns. she almost dropped her. she was wrestling with her (ive never had to do that) to a point were u can hear her squeel. in fear. poor baby. i usually think that techs should have a little more practice before seeing a client's pet because it can sometimes scare the client. if you want you are welcome to e-mail me a little warning about it and i can add it right under the Westminster vet group. =) this is supposed to help people if they have questions about vets, neutering and spaying. the more the better. =)

They'll be fine I'm sure. What did they confirm about the sex of each rabbit since you weren't sure?

AWWWWW CUTE PICTURE OF MEDUSA, POOPY. they confirmed them both to be female. thank good ness but i just brough them both home and they are still groggy under anisthetics.

in addition to that, i would recomend Stanton Animal hospital. they are very knowledgeable about bunnies and they seem to care alot about all their animals. =) it seems like a family owned business and ofcourse i support little places more than big. they are also super friendly. however, i dont know how they are for regular visits. they knew my buns may fight so the separated them which was nice. =)

TELL ME ABOUT IT!!!! i called back 3 times before 3 to see if i can pick them up or if they are doing well and stuff. now that i have them home i feel a little better but they arnt ready to eat yet. i hope they will be fine in the morning

mochi - licking papaya
emo - hay strands here and there.

i put blankets out in their cages (emo is in a box though, remember the fighting?) so they can feel a little more comfortable

on a side note (i found a little nick on emo's rear right leg. there is now a scab but i dont know how long that has been there. i noticed it yesterday but didnt have time to take a pic. the vet didnt say anything about it so i guess i am not going to worry too much. might be from the fighting. but i separated them for now so it should be fine. i hope so. my poor babies. ill check on them in the morning.
