Has anyone ever found any nutritional comparisons of these on-line?  I cannot seem to find anything on the flat leaf and I was just curious how it really does compare.  It seems everything is on the curly leaf parsley.

I get the curly leaf for my buns because I can get a box of 60 huge bunches at the restaurant supply for $21.00 – they don’t have the flat leaf.  This is such a phenomenal deal though that I cannot pass it up with 10 rabbits to feed.

I’m also able to get 30 bunches of cilantro for $7.00 which is another good deal!  The curly leaf parsley just lasts longer though so I get it more often.

you have to buy veggies by the case! that made me giggle! do they think you have a restaurant or do they know it’s for personal use…? lol!

i have been mostly buying flat leaf since someone (you?) said it was more nutritional, but i still get curly on occasion for some variety.

everything i’m seeing is just saying that flat has a more intense flavor while the curly is more bitter.

              I’ve found this:

              http://www.answers.com/topic/parsley

It seems to say that their nutritional value is exactly the same curly or flat leaf as it does not distinguish their nutritional values but only that the flat leaf does have a more desirable flavor which I’ve always known as far as seasoning like you stated Beka.

I personally have always thought of parsley as just for fragrance and not for nutrition. I therefore only use it as a treat for my buns, since they prefer the flat leaf to curly and they’d eat nothing but that if I offered it with other veggies.
lolz…parsley by the crate! Now THAT must be hard to keep fresh, even with all those buns, no? Do you have to store it in a special way, and if so, how?
My parsley goes from flat to mush within days if I don’t have it promptly boxed up straight from the store in those little GLAD tubs. >_<

My buns all require flat leaf parsley w/ every veggie plate. If they dont get it then I get the stink eye. I think they could live off of flat leaf parsley and be happy.

We have never had a problem keeping our parsley fresh. It keeps for over a week in our fridge in the plastic baggy it comes home in from the grocery store.

I’ve always thought parsley was very nutritious.

I keep my vegetables in those green bags and they stay fresh for a long time.

At the cooking school I worked at we called the curly leaf “Denny’s Parsley”. (Denny’s in a “family restaurant” chain in the US that is typically open 24 hours a day – great after a night of bar hopping)

To my knowledge their nutritional value is exactly the same. Like all dark green leafy vegetables – it is very nutritious!

Personally I use the flat leaf all the time for cooking – It has a wonderful peppery taste to it. I don’t like the curly. My buns love both of them. And the curly parsley mustaches are soooo cute!

^^^i agree with everything you said (esp. the late night Denny’s chow!) the curly tastes very strange to me, but the buns like it…

I think they use the curly parsley in tabbouleh and I do like tabbouleh – otherwise, I’ve mainly seen it used as a garnish which I think is why it has the reputation of being not nutritious. I’ve also heard it makes a good natural breath freshener.

                          I love Denny’s breakfasts too!

Thanks for the info Sage Cat, I wondered if it was the same nutrition wise and it seems that it is.

I know nothing about the nutritional content, but my bunnies like curly much more that flat. I have no idea why.
Sarita-I had no idea you had ten rabbits! Wow!

I don’t think that is accurate anymore since this thread is almost 6 years old. Holy moly!
