Many cameras these days have an option that helps prevent red eyes. I think it does some sort of flash or a few flashes prior to "final" flash of taking the picture. I can't remember why that helps but it seems to.
Also, where the camera is angled as well as where other light sources are coming make a difference. Other front key lights will help prevent red eye. So for example try to take a picture where there is already a light source in front of your bunny.
And then of course there is always photoshop, but you have to be careful with that so it doesn't look like a big flat eye.
