At the adopt-a-thon we successfully adopted out 30 bunnies from Los Angeles shelters! 

I was working with bonding and I have the scrapes everywhere to show for it.  I got a couple weird looks at work today when I explained that the cuts on my arms, and slightly puffy lip are from bunnies...there was this little girl there named Mikado...she was born with a bad leg and I want her soooooo bad...but with so many someBUNNY to love bunnies I don't think I should get her

My someBUNNY to love buns were not there because the shelters were kill shelters...I didn't want my bunnies that are safe from being pts to compete...but I am still helping the someBUNNY to love buns

Way to go, MooBunnay!  I must say, I often come home from bunny shows tired, hungry and with a sore back, but never with a fat lip!  That must have been some fur ball you had to break up!

It sounds like it was a great weekend all around.  We had 15 adoptions this week, most of them at our show on Saturday.

WOW, your rescue efforts ROCK!! How in the world do you do it?

It was an event hosted by the Bunny Bunch down here, there were bunnies from SIX different shelters, and they all had shiny new display cages, and there were pink hearts every where so that people would be in the mood to adopt a honey for their bunny   The bunnies did the REAL work tho, there were sooo many cuties there I couldn't believe it! I think the gian helium bunny outside worked well as well. There was lots of bunny bonding going on too (my lip injury came from a bunny who was not impressed by the girl who wanted to date him, and he let me know by smacking me in the face when I went to take him out of the cage)

how did they transport them all down there?

The shelters brought them down in cans, they were in those little cardboard carriers, kinda sad esp. sad for those buns that did NOT go to a nice home, because some of them are probably not around anymore....*sigh*

What do you mean brought them in cans?  Cans? huh?    Also, what did you mean by buns that did NOT go to a nice home?    I'm so confused....eh, but what's new, I always get to these boards late at night, so sometimes I'm in slow-mode.
