I just adopted a little cutie bunny, I call her Ba Ba Booey, and she's 2 months old. When should I get her fixed? Also, any ideas on how to make her more comfortable around me? I lay on the ground with her and let her explore, but she likes to run away from me too. Thanks so much

welcome to the ranks of bunny slavedom :-)

you're doing the right thing laying on the floor with her and allowing her to explore you. Since bunnies eyes are on the side of the head - try to pet her from the side so she can see your hand.  It will likely take some time for her to trust you. Playing can be a fin way to bond.  It's as simple as holding one end of a toilet paper cardboard core and letting her tug and nibble it.

I''m glad to hear you're planning to spay her and educate yourself about bunnies.  Go You!!

stolen from the HRS website:
Females can be spayed as soon as they sexually mature, usually around 4 months of age, but many veterinarians prefer to wait until they are 6 months old, as surgery is riskier on a younger rabbit.

Welcome Laura and now you are entered into the July drawing for the Bunny Goodies!  Good Luck!

Gravehearted was right on with great information.  The only thing I have to add is to not give Ba Ba Booey much freedom too fast.  So when you sit with her, are you in a smaller area like a bathroom, washroom?  Or does she have the option to run around the house and be away from you?

Keeping in a smaller area also helps with litterbox training.

Ba Ba Booey!  That's a great name - Did Ba Ba Booey's big choppers inspire that name?

thanks for the bunny information

i let her run around my room now, but at first it was around the apartment which was not so good. so, actually, shes getting much better. Ive been pulling the liter box out into her favorite spot in my room which is great. ba ba booey just came out when i was thinking of names, im not a big howard stern fan, i think my ba ba is cuter than his ba ba.
