I just walked into the living room where Acorn should have been out running around and Henri should have been in their pen. However, this is what I found. . .

I seperated them shortly after because they were circling each other a lot. Acorn is now laying right by Henri again though, the cubes are just between them.

Sounds promising to me….. circling is natural, should be allowed so long as it doesn’t start off a fight! My bonded boys have been circling each other lately, they do so from time to time depending on what other buns they can smell around them, but they are both laid back so it doesn’t cause any problems.

On that note, how do you tell if it is going to start off a fight?

When one of them bites the other. That’s the start.

Seriously though, if you are monitoring them, they really can’t get into a fight that would result in major injuries. Try clapping real loud when they start to circle. That sometimes stops/distracts them.

Mine box or grunt precircling to fight. so maybe without that they are just trying to mount?

They are most likey trying to mount and they need to do this to establish a relationship. If the circling becomes really intense and one bun starts to get nasty about it then that is the time to split them up…otherwise just let them get on with it. Like Markusdark says, try clapping your hands to distract them or give them a squirt of water. Anyway, they don’t look like buns that are going to fight to me!

i don’t remember why they’re separated?  i thought you were going to bond them.

that looks like some promising behavior right htere… lol.

well look at that!  lol.  sneaky bun buns.  wasn’t henri getting his ‘area’ nipped by acorn at one point & so thats why they’re separated now?  have they been altered since?  i forget.

I separated them because Acorn tried to neuter Henri for me. . . . . They’ve been separated since then. I did intend on trying to bond them again, I just hadn’t tried them together yet since the neutering.

Sometimes buns don’t wait for their humans to deal with the bonding process. More than one bun has made it into the other’s area and they’ve worked out the bonding on their own.

Since the consensus seems to be that circling is not bad, I put them back together. . . Here are a few more shots.

Heh, I’m sorry, but it looks like Henri ran face first into a chocolate glazed donut.

Just keep an eye on them. If they start to nip one another, clap loudly and say “NO!”. Only when they latch on with their teeth and begin to pull is there an issue. Oh, and since Acorn is the usual agressor, as long as he doesn’t hit the face, you should be able to seperate them and he’ll only have a mouthful of fluff.

This is the hard time – seeing them when they fight a bit. Maryann still fights Dono sometimes (I found a ball of fluff that was Dono’s) but for the most part, they’re good. And when she gets real uppity, it is into the carrier and a car ride.

Aww, he just wanted some snuggles…. Lol, the last pics of Henri reminds me of a little kid who just had a chocolate cupcake! What a bunch of cuties.

I love looking at pictures of your bunnies. Both angoras melt my heart. Acorn is a fun little guy to read about too.

Well, I left the boys together overnight last night. Woke up this morning and I still have two happy bunnies so everything is still going well. Did my boys really decide to bond for me?

Well, the good thing about Henri is that it would probably take alot of fur in Acorn’s face before he could even get to Henri’s skin.

I’m glad that they are getting along. Yippee – it’s still fairly new so do keep an eye on them.

YAY!!!!!  yeah, Acorn looks very aggressive flopped out like that… lol!

but seriously… i do think they’re gonna be very good together.  that’s one hurdle… next one is getting Lilly in the mix.

I love my boys!!! I think they knew their mom was stressing out about bonding three bunnies so they decided to get a jump start on things for me. . . The boys do not seem at all irritated or anything by Lilly’s presence either so I’m crossing my fingers that when the time comes, the transition will go smoothly. . . . . I can hope right?

ahahh, smart little Acorn….just wait til they shed and he tries to groom them. My dutch boy Daisy has been having a time trying to keep my rex Lola neat and clean lately, even with me brushing her. I’m always having to pull a clump of fur out of his whiskers.
