He’s a really sweet rabbit. And since he is a white without red eyes, his chances of adoption are good.

When my son volunteered there for a physiology class Radar was there.  He’s been there awhile.  Not sure why he hasn’t been adopted.  He’s really cute in person!

Markus, ditto those cuddles for me. Boy, seeing cute little bunnies like this makes me homesick for California all the more! *sigh*

Well my last visit to the shelter, I saw Radar in the ‘exercise area’. There are about 8 X-pens set up where the volunteers ‘rotate’ buns in and out of – giving them a day in the pen as often as possible so they can stretch their legs. Radar was in there and I managed to give him a couple of nose scritches before he took off away from me.. It seems that the reason he hasn’t been adopted yet is that he’s a bit of a persnickety (their term) bun. Having dealt with dwarfs my whole life, I never see it in them but he IS feisty. I think he’d make a great first time bun as he is very independant but also has a bit of a cuddle side to him. So long as the people were willing to love him on his terms, he’d be great. He also doesn’t seem to be the type to want to share so I don’t know how he’d do with bonding. It always depends on them though, eh?

                                    Radar’s been adopted!

I was lucky enough to meet his new mom last weekend when she was there for her third personal ‘date’ with Radar.  Her previous home bunny passed over the rainbow bridge about 6 months ago.  He lived a long and happy life.  She came back to Save A Bunny and spent a good two months checking out the various matches that Marcy had for her (since she gave the woman her first bun, she knew the type of rabbit personality she was looking for).  When I was there, this woman sat in an X-pen with Radar for 3 straight hours, letting him get used to her while she saw and felt how he would react to her (actually she may have been in there longer as she was still there when I left).

She will be an incredible rabbit mom and Radar will have an incredible life in his new forever home.

That is fantastic news!  Radar is such a cutie.  My son always loved that little guy.  Glad he’s getting such a great home!

That’s great! It sounds like Radar needs someone like her who understand rabbits and knows what to expect with rabbits like she does.

Sounds like Radar is a lucky guy. Happy Adoption Day to him!
