Casper is laying in the litter box a lot and sitting in it for hours on end, he comes out to eat and move around some but hes been spending a lot of time in the litter box and i never remember seeing him do this before his poo and pee seem fine. Am i missing something?

there is a pic of casper on the attachment if you want to see my sweet fuzzball.

Sophie hangs out in there ALL THE TIME. She always has. I always put hay in one corner so she can munch. I don’t know what it is about bunnies and their litterboxes but it is Home Sweet Home. Casper is a doll. what breed?

Welcome JC! We’re delighted you joined the forums.

Aww – Casper is a cutie! My kids often snooze and hang out in their litterboxes too. As long as he’s eating well and his poops / pee look normal it’s likely just a new hangout spot 🙂

Welcome JC!!    Casper is so cute!   Regarding the laying in the litter box.   Everyone is right, this is normal for some bunnies.   But if it’s a new habit, then just watch to be sure he is straining or hunching, as hanging out in the litterbox can also mean that some health issue is going on, like a urinary tract infection, bladder stones, etc.

Is his pee whitish at all?

If it just seems like he’s just hanging out sprawled and relaxing, which is what it sounds like from your description, then he’s probably found a new place to lounge.  But if he’s sitting there most of the time, then you may need to keep a closer eye on what’s going on.
