This may sound stupid but I really don’t know. I am really sick right now with a sinus infection. Can I get my bunnies sick? I haven’t been playing with my girls since I started feeling sick. My son is taking care of them for me and I really miss my babies.

Well there seems to be a lot of topics about rabbits getting herpes. And some fungal diseases (such as ringworm) can probably migrate from human to rabbit as they usually just need warmth and wetness. And there also seems to be a few diseases that we can catch from them (http://www.medirabbit.com/Zoonotic/Zoonotic_main.htm) and I also found something about lupus. However, I would imagine that if you washed your hands and didn’t sneeze on your buns, they’d be just fine. Direct cross-species illnesses are rare unless there is an exchange of fluids (such as bite to blood as in the case of rabies) or a third party (such as fleas) helping the exchange.

I should note that I am not a vet however but I have seen sick people with bunnies who have been just fine afterwards.

As markusdark mentioned – I don’t believe something like a sinus infection should transfer to a bunny. Taking an extra precaution to wash your hands wouldn’t be a bad idea, but it is OK for you to keep playing with your rabbits When I am sick – generally I all do is lay on the floor with my rabbits!
