Minnie and her babies were sItting on my bed so I sat with them and was taking turns petting everyone. Suddenly Minnie went full on ninja bunny and through herself at me and bit me. I freaked out and pushed her off and ran out of the room. This is not normal behavior for Minnie. If I don’t shower after holding the boy bunnies then she will grunt at me, but she’s never attacked me like this. She’s always licking me and Chinning me and being such a sweetheart I never thought this would happen. She left indents and a little blood, it didnt hurt that much, it just made me feel a little heart broken.

She’s probably being protective over her babies.

Territorial and possibly hormonal. She felt you were hurting her babies, and attacked you so you would stop.

Totally protecting her babies.  Bunnies are fierce mommies.

I guess that would make sense. But I pet her children all the time in front of her? She’s never really cared, even when they were tiny little hairless buns she’d just sit there and lick me while I was check the babies and making sure they were alright.

It may be this one time you smelled or acted slightly different, or maybe she’s gotten more protective as the kits have gotten bigger. Same thing happened to me with a momma bun who knew me well. She was fine for the longest time, and one day she turned into Jaws. And after that day, it never happened again. As is usual with animals, it’s something I did wrong, not her.
