I’ve got my bunny only one week ago and he was such a sweetheart. He warmed up to me after one day and was playful, licked my hands all the time. But this morning he started acting as if he didn’t recognize me. I let him out of his cage and he was running around and playing as usually. After a couple of hours I tried to pet him and he got scared of me. Started thumping his feet and running. After that he seemed to go back to his usual self. And at the evening his sacredness and aggression came back. He even bit me. When no one is around him he acts normal, he plays, eats and stuff. I’m not sure what to think of it..

Maybe you looked or smelled a little different?

Also remember rabbits see only portions of you, so he may have gotten comfortable with one certain way of approach, but not others. He has your entire body to learn and get used to. Rabbits have great visual range, but the focus and attention is limited. When I home from work, Wick doesn’t run up to me until I get down and he sees my face. Then he actually knows it’s me.

That happened to one of my bunnies when she was a baby a few years ago. She used to love cuddling but then one day turned wild. It took me about a year to get my rabbit pretty tame again. Try approaching your rabbit very slowly and let him sniff you. Maybe hold some food in your hand and see if he comes near you.
