Hey! So a majority of the flooring in my home is tatami and my bunny is ALWAYS licking the floor, is tatami okay for rabbits? I don’t use any harsh chemicals to clean it or anything, weekly vacuum and wipe. I read that licking is a normal activity for rabbits but I just want to make sure, never too careful lol.

If the mats are made of something natural such as the traditional rice straw, it should be safe for your bun. Rice is a grass plant, and there’s a very old thread here (2009, so please don’t post anything new to it) discussing it:

As a general rule of thumb, rabbits shouldn’t eat large quantities of straw since it’s not very nourishing, but I don’t think there’s a problem with them licking it if the mats aren’t cleaned with chemicals.
