        Hi,

My male bunny was neutered 6 weeks ago now, and he’s still spraying urine.

I have a spayed female bunny (spayed in May), and they’re not bonded yet, so could it be a territorial thing? It’s always in one place, right next to her pen.

Or should I take it as a sign that he’s still hormonal and so not ready for bonding?

Or do some bunnies just spray forever?

Yes. hormonal and not ready for bonding. I’m unsure if some rabbits spray forever, but I think it just takes more time with some.

I always thought they told you 6 weeks to be safe, rather than because it would actually take that long!

            Thanks for the help.

For males, it can take up to two months for hormones to die down as much as theyre going to. For female, it can take up to six months. A nonhormonal bun will likely act hormonal around another hormonal bun. So, if your female takes the full six months, its fair to say your male is likely to spray for just as long.

Now, if her six months are up and hes still spraying, I would take it that he is just a territorial bun. My Bombur has been neutered for over a year and still pee marks on things that he likes (shoes, blankets, clothes, toys, their water dish, ect)
