You get the litter out and the bag to put the dirty stuff in and bunny decides he wants to do a big poop in his litter tray?

Heh! No, not yet, but that’s because I take the whole litterbox out to empty, clean and refresh it. Have to be quick about it though so that neither of my buns gets tempted to, uh, do their business on the condo deck.

I used to use trash bags for litter but now I dump it outside bringing wild rabbits here, but when I used trash bags she’d jump into it and use it. And for some reason she really liked the only dirty hay in there too.

When I’m going to clean a litter box (Wick has 2 main ones), I usually plop him in the one I’m about to clean so he can get it out of his system, then I stop him from hopping in if he’s feeling it afterwards. If he’s getting extra finnicky, I’ll place the second litterbox in place of the one I’m cleaning, so he’s still near me and in a box, but not the one I’m currently cleaning.

Preventing this is very important for Wick because I used small granule litter with a screen, so if Wick jumps in and the screen is out, he tracks the litter everywhere because it gets stuck to him and gets launched out when he hops out, haha.
