I’m just posting for my particular case for my bunny. A year ago I made a topic about how my bunny got very ill the day after we applied Advantage (kitten dose). He had seizures, wasn’t eating or drinking and was not active. I was giving him Critical care after we visited a 2nd vet when his seizures were getting closer together and longer. They also had given me 3 medicines, one for E.C., worms and for some parasite. We don’t actually know if those medicines helped, but he made a full recovery. Both vets couldn’t figure out what was wrong with him. His stomach was completely fine and they monitored him for awhile. We didn’t have enough money to get anything done like blood tests and all. It could’ve just been a coincidence that he got sick just after it. My mom and I are still scared about putting anything on him, but he is covered so we have no choice and we want to get it fixed before we move. All the other animals have been treated.
We know to stay clear of Frontline, but should we try Advantage again? I also heard Revolution. We might just have the vet apply the dose so it’s done correctly. We are going to talk to the exotic vet tomorrow about it when he goes to get neutered, but we will wait once he’s fully recovered just to be on the safe side.

Revolution is probably the safest, but I would talk to your vet if he potentially had an adverse reaction to another flea treatment. It could have been a coincidence since he was on other medications. But there is always the small chance an animal will have an adverse reaction to an otherwise safe flea medication. The vast majority of rabbits are fine when treated with Advantage. Same goes for Revolution. But you never know, I suppose.

And yes, you are correct about Frontline (or anything containing fipronil). It’s toxic to rabbits and should never be used on them.
