Hello everyone. I’m new to the whole bunny world and I’m so happy to be here. Last week I adopted Georgey from my local rescue (she’s 2yrs, Holland Lol, 8lbs). She’s practically perfect. She does all her business on the pillow I gave her. She doesn’t poop or pee anywhere else. I have a litter her size all set up the way every YouTube tutorial and article has advised. Is there anything else besides the hay/hamster shavings I can use? I’m not sure why she only goes on the pillow I’m wondering if it’s the soft batting of the inside? Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks in advance
*also I did remove the pillow and she held it in for nearly 12hrs. I felt bad and gave it back to her. Keep in mind I’ve only had her a week tomorrow ?

Rabbits prefer to toilet on soft things. I would remove the pillow completely until she is litter trained as having it in there might confuse her during training. Completely remove it from the room.

For litter, I suggest using cardboard based. I have a bun who pees on soft things and things he loves, and thankfully cardboard based litter is soft enough for him. Carefresh sells some that is bunny safe. Youll fill the litter box with about an inch of the litter, and on half of the litter box, fill with hay. It is why I do and works well with my litter picky bun

Make sure her box is big enough too. Although my bunnies are small, they demand XL cat litter boxes. Only one of my three accepts regular sized litter boxes.

So follow up- the pillow is gone. She’s using a cat sized box and I have a newspaper based product (was the softest in the store) and it’s been working!!! Thanks so much for your feedback I really am so gratefull
