My 11 week old Marmalade was happy and healthy on Sunday and unexpectedly died Monday evening. We are heart broken and do not know why he passed. He has left behind his sister who I fear is missing him. I’m just so heart broken and confused. Rip my Marmalade.

I’m very sorry for your loss.

It’s not possible to say why he passed. He might have had something wrong with him that he was born with. It’s so sad. His siter probably misses him a lot, so try to give her extra attention now.

            SO sorry to read this
A soft toy ( one with stitched eyes and nose not buttons) may help her by giving her something to snuggle and groom
            I hope she grieves fast

              So sorry for your loss.
Bunnies can be extremely fragile where their digestive system is concerned. Or as bam suggests it could have been an illness from birth.
              Extra love to sister.

Thank you all for your kind words. I didn’t realise how attached we all were to him in 6 weeks!
Because it all happened so suddenly it has made me a little anxious about our remaining Bunny! And having to explain what had happened to my children and see their faces. Such an awful day.

Surprisingly though his sister, Pipi, has been full of energy today and binkying like crazy. I think they had a  bit of a love hate relationship. I’m glad she doesn’t appear to be too affected but will keep a close eye on her.

Had you had Marmalade snce he was 4 weeks old…? (Calculator head….!) or maybe they were born at home ?
If not, 4 weeks is terribly early to be weaned from mum ?
