Hi everyone! My name is Chelsea and I am brand new to Binky Bunny and to being a rabbit owner! I adopted Thyme on August 22 and I’m already more than a little obsessed with her (which she tolerates pretty well lol)\. She’s warmed up to me pretty quickly which makes me super happy since she’s been in a shelter and various foster homes for 3.5 years!! She’s about 4 years old, very smart, inquisitive, independent, and bossy.

This forum has been so incredibly helpful to me already so I figured I’d actually join and start actually talking with everyone! I’ve still got lots of bunny proofing to do since Thyme came home sooner than I was expecting and she loves exploring everything. It’s been such a learning experience getting know her and her habits. I grew up with dogs and only recently got comfortable caring for my family’s guinea pigs so this has pushed my comfort zone a bit. But I’ve always loved rabbits so I’m excited I could finally adopt my very own bun and give a good home to Thyme! I got a few popcorns/binkies the other night and she seems pretty comfortable with me petting her/hanging out so I think we’ll get along fine!

Welcome. I love her name and she is very cute. Also can I just say how great it is that you have adopted an older bun and not a baby. It’s lovely that she has found a loving home after being in a shelter for so long. I’m really glad she’s finally got her chance at happiness

Hello and welcome to Binky Bunny! Thyme is lovely. It’s wonderful that you adopted her and that she will have a loving, forever home.

I’m not totally sure what breed she is (the woman at the rescue shelter isn’t sure either), but after some quick research, I don’t think she is a Californian (no red eyes). Possibly American? Whatever breed she is, she’s darn cute!

Thank you all for your kind words! I’m so glad I was able to give her a forever home, too! She and I are pretty well matched since she needed a quiet adult home and I definitely wasn’t ready to take on a baby bun.
