  I am fostering an obese rabbit. She is doing really well now and is losing weight. Yesterday I was watching her groom her front paws and noticed that her dewlap skin is substantial and she appears to barely get her paws to her mouth when she scrunches them up to her face to lick them.
  
  This got me thinking about the loose skin that will continue to accumulate as she continues to loose weight.
  
  Does anyone have experience with dieting buns and the impact the weight loss has had on their body condition? Is loose skin an issue?

  When I got my Olivia (now gone to Rainbow Bridge) she was quite a bit overweight and had a big dewlap. She had been eating pet store junky food. When I changed her diet and with exercise she slimmed down quickly. Her dewlap completely disappeared. She had also been spayed around this time too, so that may have helped in reducing the dewlap. But she didn’t have any excess skin from the shrunken dewlap.

  That’s great to hear, thank you for sharing pictures. My bun just had a check up and is down 300 grams since Feb. We got her in June from the rescue. Yeah for her! Congrats on your bunny diet.
