For a while I had one of those corner litter boxes for my rabbit and he always peed in the litterbox, andhis poops mainly made it in there. As he got older he was missing the litterbox and so I bought hin a bigger one, but now he’ll pee anywhere in his cage and outside of his cage (he has free-roam during the day) I thought maybe since he isn’t neutered that is what’s making him bad at using the litterbox, but I can’t do anything about that now he’ll be 6 in february and his vet isn’t a rabbit savy vet when it comes to neutering, they can do checkups but nothing else. Does anyone have any tips to re-teach him to use the litterbox? It’sgotten to the point where he doesn’t even go into his litterbox anymore…

Finn is not neutered. I would try re- litter training him. Start from the beginning and go over the basics. I’ve had to go over a couple things I’ve tought Finn again and it’s a little frustrating but they always get it faster the 2nd time.

I recently got a male rabbit and he’s only 5 months and I’ve begun to see that he’s starting to get poorer with his littler box. So I’ll have to repeat the process or get him fixed. He was litter trained within two days at 4 months.

How I got him to do so the first time was section him off into a small area of the house. Look for where he pooped most in that room and place the box there. Anytime he pooped elsewhere, I’d put all of them into the box. Also if he pees I absorb some with a tissue and put it in his box. Then I clean the area with baking soda and vinegar to neutralize the scent. That way he won’t go there anymore. If they smell their urine they will go there.

If you’ve done all of that and it’s not really helping consider looking outside of your town. You might have to travel a while but it may be best to do so just so that you can get this one procedure done. Thankfully it’s something that only needs to be done once. So maybe make a trip out of it. Try to contact them as much as you can to get everything you need before you leave. And then enjoy the trip.
