Hi everyone
. I am new to this site so this is my little introduction.I used to keep 2 rabbits. A black male lionhead and his sister who was a lionhead with markings like a himilayan or a Californian. I loved them dearly and they were very spoilt. After they died I couldn’t bring myself to get new rabbits so I took a 4 year break from keeping bunnies.
I volunteer at my local rescue kennels. It is a small rescue with all sorts of animals ranging from dogs to guinea pigs, geckos, fish, rabbits, cats, birds, degus and more! Usually they have about 8-12 runs full at any one time with rabbits and/or guinea pigs.
A couple of months ago 6 baby bunnies came in. There were 3 girls and 3 boys. 4 of them were dark brown lionheads and 2 looked like wild rabbits.
The next week a mother rabbits came in with her 6 young babies (around 2-3 weeks old I think). The owners didn’t want the babies. The owner of the rescue said we would be able to take in the babies once they were old enough to be separated from their mother. The owners said they would bring in the babies along with their mother then take back the mum rabbit once the babies were old enough. So they brought all 7 rabbits in. A few days later they called and said they didn’t want the mother rabbit back.
The mother is called Nutty. She raised her babies wonderfully and they are now all very healthy youngsters. The males and females have been separated and Nutty has been spayed.
I fell in love with Nutty instantly. She is the nicest doe I have met in my time working at the kennels, most of the staff agree with me. The only decision left was who to choose as a companion for her!
I picked out a beautiful brown male lionhead from the litter that came in just before her. They have been bonding at the kennels now for a little while and they should be ready to be brought home sometime next week! Everything is ready for them at home. They will live in a 5ft by 10ft insulated shed outside. Inside it has one of those wooden rabbit hutches which will be used as a cosy bed area. There are boxes, toys, littertrays, waterbottles, etc. all setup and ready for the bunnies. There is a large outdoor run for them to play outside and nibble grass. They will also be brought inside to play. We have lots of rabbit safe plants and vegetables in our garden so they will get lots of fresh treats (like lavender, rose petals, dandilions, mint, basil, strawberry leaves and such) along with their vegetables, hay and pellets. Can’t wait to pick them up!Anyway that’s my little story about my new bunnies. Aside from rabbits, there are also guinea pigs, gerbils, cats and many many fish in my animal family.
I have joined this site to get some tips on bunny care and ideas for toys and games for them. I have not been on a bunny forum before, please forgive me as if I do not know the technical words for things and for asking lots of questions.

How lucky are these buns to be coming home with you. The garden sounds like a rabbits dream.
Please do share some photos of them and your other critters also.

Bam, Thank you! I have read through that but it says the pictures are too big. I’m kind of confused about how to resize them.
It says

But not really sure how to insert the picture to get to that stage.Luna, hi. No he doesn’t have a name yet but we’ve got a list of possible names

Thanks everyone. They’re super cute. I brought them home today. They’ve settled in really well already. Nutty doesn’t really seem to care that she’s in a new home, she’s just acting like herself. Munching on grass and hay and hopping over for cuddles. The baby boy is a bit more nervous but he’s still pretty calm. He’s sitting on my knee right now and keeps popping onto the keyboard and typing random letters.
