So, I’ve been hearing that animal behavior will be changing the day of the Eclipse only for a short while, but I’m just curious if anything major will happen with my rabbit? I do keep him inside and he isn’t near a window, I’m just wondering if he will sense any changes such as some articles describe.

I’m also not going to be home for most of the day as I am going to go out to view it and also traveling too. I just wanna know if my rabbit will be fine and not really affect him. I don’t want anything to happen to him while I’m out and I cannot be there for him, if anyone knows about anything for rabbits please let me know! I’ve been only hearing about larger mammals and other animals but I’m pretty sure that wild rabbits and possibly domestic rabbits might have a reaction?

I’m hoping nothing will happen but I just want to ensure that he doesn’t get too off from the Solar Eclipse, but if you guys have any reports of anything let me know! I’d love to hear from others about their rabbit’s reactions.

I’ve been doing a lot of homework on what my animals will do during the eclipse. Pretty much all of the sources I found said that dogs couldn’t care less and rabbits will most likely just go to sleep. The only significant changes in animal behavior are with birds. Insects are supposed to act differently too. I will try to find the article that I was reading earlier and post it

I hope the link works. The last paragraphsays that rabbits will most likely just got sleep. Animals really don’t look at the sun so there is not really any reason to worry in my opinion.

I’m not really sure that Panda and Fernando will care whether anything is happening, particularly if they’re in their litterbox (which is in a corner on the lower deck of their condo that’s already dim and secluded) at the time. It was still dark when I left and turned out the lights, so they most likely went back to sleep once I’d left.
