        Hi Everyone

I’m JAYGEE, my rabbit is Amber a yellow Continental Giant. She is about 7 months old but I’ve only had her for 2 months. Already she has endeared herself to everyone who meets her, but today I’m worried she was spayed on 24th July so about 11 days ago. Has been fine eating running around pooping normally. The wound is already healed and beginning to fur over, however she wont eat today is lethargic and not at all interested in anyone or anything she is also beathing rather fast and sometimes making a gruting noise when she breathes. Hubby is at the vet now.

Fingers crossed she’s okay! It’s scary when a bun stops eating

              OMG I am so upset.
The vet saw Amber and was just listening to her heart and lungs when she had a heart attack there and then in his hands and died.
They gave her Adrenaline and Oxygen and even performed CPR but weren’t able to revive her.
They suspect she had VHD2 which is so sad because she was due for the vaccine next Monday.
This is the most heart breaking way to lose a pet ever. Now we have to sterilise absolutely everything to destroy the virus, but I’m not sure when or if we will be able to risk having another Rabbit in the house.
This is really the worst thing that could have happened and she was so young and until this morning seemed so healthy.

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear this. RVHD2 is a terrible disease.
