Hi we just adopted a rabbit his name is spot in order to bring him home they had to get him nurtured first after the surgery they said to feed him critical care to insure that he is getting all he needs so we have been doing that but he fights even when tacoed and me and hubby are worried he will not feel safe with us this is day 3 he is eating much better he eats all his veggies and a good amount of hay but only nibbles on his pellets my kids really wanted a rabbit but I know rabbits take a lot of care and being in a new environment can be scaring and then having that procedure on top of it must be a lot to take in and closeness and feeling safe is important he also been pooping a good amount like a med dark brown color not runny or anything good round size and also been peeing as well he is on his last dose of pain meds is it ok to stop feeding him the critical care? Is how he is eating normal?and ok ? if he not eating the pellets as much?

How old is your bunny? After 6 months old, bunnies should only be getting about 2-4 tablespoons of pellets a day. His little nibbles are fine. I’d say take him off the CC, especially because he is eating a good amount of hay and veggies. Bombur is currently on CC for minor stasis related to his neuter, and my vet said keep him on it until he starts eating hay and pellets normally. If he ever needs CC again, you can always leave it in a bowl for him to eat up at his choosing. That’s what Bombur does, and it’s encouraged him to eat more pellets and hay too. The poops are totally normal, so don’t worry about those.
