I recently rescued a “dwarf bunny” from a friend who was unable to keep the bunny and had very little information about the bunny. I was told he was a 5 month old dwarf bunny. That’s about it. I love him so much and have experienced nothing but joy since bringing him home. He is about 6 months now and im starting to question if he is truly a dwarf bunny! I don’t mind either way, but was wondering if anyone had any way to tell the difference between young dwarf rabbits and standard breeds or will only time tell? He is tiny, yes, but his ears are growing quickly and he is noticeably bigger than he was when i brought him home a month ago. Thanks for any input!

If you could post a picture, we might be able to tell if he is a dwarf or not. The fact that his ears and body are growing larger likely means that he isn’t a dwarf. Or he could be a dwarf mix. Sometimes pet shops or people who are selling rabbits will say that they are a dwarf, either because they have very little knowledge about rabbits or because they think more people might be inclined to buy a dwarf rabbit.
