        Help!!!!

My rabbit has not been eating a lot and I posted about it. Now looking at the causes of GI like stress like an owner going away or not enough exercise can cause it. I did just get back from a trip and the day I wasn’t here he didn’t get out of his cage. And then symptoms are loss of appetite which he doesn’t want to eat much and small poops and I check his litter box and most whee normal but some where small. It’s been at least 36 hours since I noticed he stoped eating.

Is this GI stasis? Please help me what do I do!?!!

I can’t get to the vet tell tomorrow and I might not even get an appointment.

Have you checked your bunnies temperature? On Sunday my rabbit went through something similar and I took his temperature through tjectectim to find it was very low. A rabbit needs be between 101-103. Once I knew how low it was we took him to the vet er. If you find it is below 100, put a heating pad on low and cover it it’s a towel so he does not burn, it is important to keep it on low and cover the chord from being able to chew on it. It is good to purchase critical care and a syringe to feed your bun if they stop eating. Also, pick your bunny up and feel it’s stomach if it feels tight. You can careful give your bun a belt massage to see if they have gas and help relieve it. If u do the rectum temp make sure to put Vaseline on it first!

I’m not entirely sure this is GI Stasis, But GI Stasis can be caused by not enough exercise. Your bunny hasn’t been eating for 36 hours? Definitely try to make an appointment.

If your bun has t eaten in 36 hours and he won’t eat a treat if offered one, you should contact a vet right away.

Stasis means the intestines have stopped moving or are only moving slowly. It can be caused by many different things, but the main thing is to resolve the gut slow down, you can think about possible causes after.

ETA: From what I can see in your history, he started eating again after you started this thread

Yes he is eating. He’s basically back to normal I’m really not sure why he wasn’t eating.
