My male rescue rabbit Rexy is a new edition along with Greycie, his sister. I already have a male named Tardis.

Rexy eats fine, but every night he makes a weird grunting noise? It sounds like he’s gagging or going to vomit, but then nothing happens after like two of those noises?

His previous owner never mentioned it, but my male rabbit Tardis has never made these noises before either. Is it dangerous, should I take him to the vet? I don’t know what to do.

Do these noises occur when he’s eating/has just eaten? Some bunnies eat their pellets to fast and may gag on them. For this type of greedy bun, it’s recommended you scatter the pellets on the ground rather than serve them in a bowl. I have to do that with my Bam.

Sometimes Ginny makes odd, grunting noises but only when she’s really upset or angry. She’s a HUGE drama queen, has even screamed a few times. Maybe he’s in some kind of pain when he’s chewing?
Also, LOVE the name Tardis. Doctor Who reference? Named all my rabbits after Harry Potter Characters

Does he seem like he is conge.sted at all? Any odd breathing sounds at other times?

Occasionally, 2 of my rabbits make a gag/cough sound. One does it after drinking water. Im not entirely sure why…
I wondered before if rabbits can get post-nasal drip like people can. I will have to ask the vet next time they have a check up.
